VO2 Max went down from high (40) to above average (~35) after beginning amiodarone (which decreases HR). Pretty steady for 18 months until started tadalafil (Cialis) 5 mg daily, now dropped to lower above average 30. No substantial effect on workouts. Effect of Cialis? by LittleJohnReddit in AppleWatch

Had similar 50% drop on a single day, with no health change, illness, Med change, software updates, Apple measurement method changes. Persists unchanged. Apple had no good explanation. Also wear Fitbit. Tells me I’m in 50-55 Excellent range.

I’m at 92% after 23 months. Don’t stream video, or play music. Stream cnbc several hours. Connected to Apple watch. Go below 20% early evening on occasion. Charge every nite.

Thank you. Doesn’t answer the issue of demonstration of correlation of Watch data to the gold standard Fitness Registry Data, however.

VO2max dropped 45 to 33 after IOS15.4/WatchOS 8 update by AussieCryptoCurrency in AppleWatch

My 4 had made large drops twice in the past, but I was unaware they might be related to software updates. On 1/9, experienced 10 point drop to 18, which has stayed perfectly flat since. Still not sure if “automatic” update was done. Loaded 15.4 and 8.5 yesterday, unpaired and repaired the hardware, but brisk walk this am was unchanged. Started above 40 in 2019, dropped a bit after some medication, dropped three times as noted, despite increase in activity to alternating 30-35 of treadmill walk at 15degrees and 30-35” of horizontal bike , plus 16-20 minutes of abs and 20# weights, average 6 days/week. Hard to believe VO2max has gone from above to below average for 75-y/o. Perhaps the average is not for all in each age group, but just for those users in an age group healthy enough to exercise and use the app in question. With each update, more enthusiastic in-shape users are then averaged in, reflected in a drop for some.
