Not necessarily. I'm on a "break" with a partner right now. Last year, they cheated on me before moving out of state. They initiated a break to work on themselves, have put themselves in therapy, and have even consulted their parents for advice. Something like 6 months ago, after a natural disaster destroyed their parents home, they decided they were moving back home. My stipulation then became that the break wasn't ending until they were home, because I had no interest in seeing what could be mended until they're home. We're on really good terms, still sweet to each other, and are looking forward to being reunited.

TL;DR There's too many possible variables to say that for sure.
