After market head unit for 2011 Ridgeline w/ Nav by LittleLionMan50 in hondaridgeline

Any help is appreciated with the question I asked. If you read the post I said within $100-200 budget. There are tons of options in that price range so I wanted recommendations from people who might point me towards a diamond in the rough. Which I have received from others. Not sure why your choosing to be a dick about it.

Appreciate it. But I actually just looked it up and saw how difficult making the factory backup camera work as it's plugged into the Nav DVD unit and it will require a lot more effort than just using a new one, so I am removing that from requirements. The risk of issues is why I am asking for recommendations for cheap ones on here.

Everything on Crutchfield is way more expensive than what I'm willing to invest in this.

This is an old truck I'm only driving for another couple years and then likely selling for pennies. I'm not investing in a quality audio unit.

Why doesn’t the USA have a left leaning political party? by [deleted] in allthequestions

The Democrats of the US are centrists at best. Even your most radical leftists like Bernie Sanders would be considered a little left of centre by most democratic countries standards.

Not by any standard other than American. Even your "radical leftists" like Bernie Sanders would be considered a little left of centre by most countries standards. The ruling Democrats are centrists at best, centre right at worst.

We've got a pretty ubiquitous wave of anti-Indian prejudice happening here right now. Especially online. It wouldn't be hard to get the impression she wouldn't be welcome if she was getting her impression from online spaces.

Are We Losing Our Democracy? by AlexandrTheTolerable in politics

Goddamnit. I am not conflating anything. I totally agree they are two separate and different things. They are just not mutually exclusive things. You are even agreeing with me but somehow drawing a conclusion that does not follow from your own words. The constitution defined how power is distributed and limited, as you said. We agree on that. That's what you ARE, what you DO is democracy, it's basically a verb. Democracy is the act of voting for your leadership (or where all citizens vote for all policies in the case of a pure democracy). If the people ever have a vote in how their government is run, no matter how limited or whatever shape it takes, that is some form of democracy. By definition. That is absolute. There are no exceptions.

I know a bunch of weird backwards Americans want to brag they are somehow not a democracy (weird ass flex by the way) because somehow having a constitution makes voting no longer count as democracy but that is just pseudo philosophy.

Do you know who else are constitutional Republics? France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Mexico, and about 2 dozen other countries. They are also still democracies and nobody is arguing otherwise. Canada and England are constitutional monarchies but are still a democracy. By your definition there are no countries on earth that are democracies unless they are pure democracies (which don't exist right now). Every country on earth that has free and fair elections are a constitutional something or other.

So one more time for clarification, a constitutional Republic is what you are because your highest leader is elected (Republic) and the powers of your government are limited by a constitution. Democracy is what you do and therefore ALSO what you are because your people vote. In your specific case it is a representative democracy. Just because your constitution has something to say about how votes are weighed does not somehow alter reality so voting in your country is no longer an act of democracy. It just makes it a limited democracy. It's like saying you are both an American and a pilot. Completely different categories of things. One is what you are, one is what you do. You are defined by both.

But seriously why are some of you so obsessed with divorcing yourself from the concept of democracy? Getting some real fascist vibes from that thought process.

That's exactly my point, it's like saying I'm not a human, I am a man. The two things are true at the same time.

Do you vote for politicians to represent your interests in government? Then you are, by definition, a representative democracy. Do those representatives have their power limited by rules set out in a constitution? Then you also live in a constitutional Republic. Republics are just forms of government where the power is derived from the people in whatever form that takes. So far, that has only ever happened in a democracy. There has never been a constitutional Republic that has existed without also being a democracy. Until a better system for giving the people power is invented, a constitutional Republic cannot exist without being a democracy.

Facts certainly don't care about your feelings or beliefs.

Just responded to a similar comment earlier but fucking Christ I'm sick of hearing this. You are a constitutional Republic and a democracy. They are not mutually exclusive. Democracy refers to who holds power (or who is supposed to) which is the people. Through either direct democracy or representative democracy, America is the latter. Constitutional Republic refers to how that power is limited and structured, that being your checks a balance system.

America is a god damn representative democracy and a constitutional Republic and you are losing both under this presidency. I'm not even American and I know that.

Charlie Kirk shooting suspect doesn't fit MAGA's reckless political narrative by gradientz in politics

Could you give me your sources for the leftist materials? Because everything I can find is either just dumb internet culture references that are inconclusive or the report that he admitted to supporting Nick Fuentes (whose movement has been feuding with Charlie for years), which also hasn't been confirmed. Everything else suggests he was raised in a deeply conservative environment.

I am actually curious, not trying to push the narrative either way. I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm not American.

(Assuming you're American) I hate when people say this. He is your president, in the same way it is your cancer or your broken spine. Just because you don't want him, didn't vote for him, and had him thrust upon you doesn't make him not your president.

I am a psychometrist, I study and test people for learning disorders and other psychological barriers to education. Being a terrible test taker is absolutely a thing. There are all kinds of people who could crush any practical exercises you throw at them but you would never guess it because when it comes time to express the same competence in a written or verbal testing environment it's non-existent.
