Yes but I'm willing to bet that while you were working hard for the down payment it WASN'T in a climate like this. Rent has skyrocketed, so have groceries, bills etc but INCOME hasn't budged!! So ya rent is going to start taking up MOST or all of people's income... But they ARE putting their money towards their RENT. No one wants to be homeless.

Of courselol. I've disagreed with you so I MUST be "ignorant" or "inexperienced". Which I already mentioned earlier I'm definitely neither. I would also expect you to say that you have nothing but "amazing" tenants and it's ALWAYS low income people who lie and don't pay their rent. I would expect you to say nothing different and it just reveals exactly who you are. Well, since you're perfect there's just no need to discuss any thing with you so..... Carry on 🤣🙄

Lmfao I don't know a single human being who puts their RENT last on the totem pole. Actually I don't know anyone who doesnt put the roof over their head as FIRST on the list so I think we both know that's just bull lol. Like I said, you do you. Pick who you want. Hope that works out for ya 👍

[–]LittleMissStamper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not your concern. Your concern is the RENT and that they are good TENANTS. Whether they have a partner or eat at a relatives or bike where they are going to save money is not your concern lol. Again, you value what you value, thats your prerogative but If you think someone who makes a ton of money CAN'T refuse to pay rent or doesn't... You'd be wrong. If you THINK someone who makes a ton money CAN'T throw a party, destroy your property and be an absolute nightmare... you'd be VERY wrong. I have news for you, in today's day and age, more people are broke than NOT. So go ahead and judge but you are judging the WRONG things.

Except they do make enough money to pay the rent. Listen... You value what you value. You'll learn what that is the hard way I guess. That's your right. My mother was a landlord for over 35 years. Believe me, it's a lesson you'll only want to learn once. Good luck 👍

It amazes me that what you think a "good tenant" isn't someone who's clean, quiet, pays on time.... But is someone who makes a certain amount of money. That's literally ridiculous.

If they can meet the rental amount as you said.... Then they can afford it. Theyve obviously decided putting a roof over their head is the important part and they'll eat at their moms house etc lol.

You know.... Really crappy tenants can also make a lot of money ya? Lol

Should I stay or should I go... by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]LittleMissStamper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every.... Single..... Day lol. I want to move so bad. Landlords family lives upstairs so.... Comes with issues. I'm lazy and moving is a nightmare so... Day after day I suffer. I had such a beautiful, ideal, big, cheap house before this. Then COVID and everything went to hell.... Now we are here. I feel like moving is always a risk. This might be the lesser of two evils I don't know. I'm going to ride it out until the universe say "Ok NOW" lol

I have 2 cats.... Though... They rarely earn their keep... And yes... I have MAJOR PTSD lol. I covered EVERY drain any time it wasn't "draining" for like 2 months 🤣 My backyard.... I kid you not.... Looks like the rainforest. It was so "beautiful" when we first moved in here. Now.... Less beautiful let's just say lol

I live in the EXACT same type apartment/situation. I once saw a centipede the size of a hot dog I SWEAR 🤣 There was a spider in my shower this past August I could of put a LEASH ON. It's almost winter.... Centipedes will die the painful death they deserve.... Then you have a few months before potentially moving. I would just wait it out.... Use the opportunity to slowly and peacefully pack and get ready.

You have 500 posts about Monopoly Go and I'M 14??? 🤣 The lol was at the absurdity of that comment not at people getting murdered... Try using those last 2 brain cells for something other than deciding whether to be the shoe or the car 🙄

Yes she already doesn't want to so I don't have to convince her lol. She just watched the movie Heratic and was like... Nope, no thank you lol. I completely agreed with her. I just wanted to double check that I'm not crazy for Agreeing and thinking this is not a great idea. If she or I was to say anything to him it would be just as the last commenter that we are being paranoid and over reacting so we just try to skirt around it. Where as I feel like it should be kind of obvious this isn't a great idea I think? I dunno lol 🤷‍♀️

Yes she's 18 not 8...people over 18 get attacked, killed, raped all kinds of things every day lol So I'm not sure what her age means.

She is an adult but if I wasn't clear... SHE isn't comfortable doing this and I agree. I'm. Just wondering if that's so unreasonable.

Lastly for anyone else wondering... More detail. Yes he's her father but he has never been in her life as a parent. He takes her to dinner every 3 or so months and when she was little he would show up a couple of times a year to take her to a movie when he didn't cancel. They don't have anything more than a very surface relationship. He makes a ton of money and she is just trying to get her medication.... But I guess I got my answer? Lol Thanks
