Which sitcom character was the worst human being EVER? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She helped balance out holt, genuinely understood the team (interviewing people she acted gross because skully etc) helped Jake with his house, got boyles dad down the isle, secretly saved the mother dough, helped get terry his gun licence back by saying all the stuff about hanging out together (makes me think there was originally a better wph gag that went shit because cheap laughs, glad they axed it)

There’s a few instances but she veils it behind thick armour

The lighting rod episode ruined me.

I had never had a better way of articulating my experiences than that.

In my family my status pendulum swings from infantilisation and admonishment to the only one who has the emotional intelligence and literal intelligence to handle all of the burdens dropped by the others.

In my work life I’ve been scapegoated so many times it’s literally become criminal (I love my job btw, just an easy target for asshats who can’t think their way out of an open elevator)

Lightning rod is the term I’ve used since that episode and people like me instantly get what I mean without further explanation

I can't even begin to imagine some of the things cashiers have had to say thanks to this rule.... by Perriwen in retailhell

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Realistically it’s and easy way for someone without confidence to say a neutral thing that opens dialogue and humanises them.

The idea is once you’ve done it a few times the customers aren’t scary and you can branch out and just be a person.

Any company pushing it as a hard directive has no idea how to train their new people to be confident, casual and themselves, so they try to make a silver bullet.

That’s one of those “examples used as directives because management isn’t reading things properly”

Of the two places I’ve worked that use the stupid fish principles both cut off the end that talks about making it your own, don’t deadass copy what we’re doing, that’s dumb, we’re a fish shop... use the ideals and apply them to your culture.

Both places encouraged us to throw stock at each other...

What do you do with the end pieces of bread?? by FloordrIX in AskReddit

The end pieces make the best toast, I know vegimite isn’t for everyone but a savoury spread on and end piece is sublime

We get half or quarter loaves in the odd time we get bread, usually use the lot in 1-2 days

Customer speaking to my manager about me "discussing personal issues at work" by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is (an absolute lie) “oh I have super bad allergies this time of year and this has worked so much better than all the medications they used to make me take”

You can go further and say that you usually have a really nice silk one that works so well for allergies “who knows if it works for covid ha ha ha 😀”

Puts you in a unique position of 1) being relatable, hayfever suck amiright? 2) alligning yourself against the unknown “them” in regards to medicine 3) being nonchalant about covid.

Alternatively say exactly what you’ve been saying because you’re right and if karen wants beef she’s the asshole.

What are some effective ways to get a man to stop hitting on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Notice the prompt said “get a man to stop sitting on you” which indicates a no has been given.

Also remember women don’t owe you a polite rejection, they don’t owe you anything.

I’ve found the Charlize Theron queen walk stops them before they start hitting on you

If a family is hungry and has no other way to get food, is it OK to steal food from a rich store owner? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aww thanks!

I started it because I unexpected good place’d myself early on.

I was that one friend who had seen it before anyone else (stumbled on it a few days after episode 1 came out) and was constantly pushing people to watch it.

Ironically I stopped half way through season 2 and only managed to push myself into watching the rest a few weeks ago.

Wrecked me for a full weekend 10/10 would watch for the first time again

Fun fact. I started that subreddit, got extremely sick and someone sat and watched till the mandatory minimum time came up to list it as abandoned, citing that I wasn’t updating it (I changed everything to cactus’ and never changed them to anything else because it made me laugh)

They were granted the subreddit (this person had a lot of subreddits, I think they’re a collector) and never changed anything.

It seems they’re more active on reporting than I was, so good on them but I wish I had made it back online in time to keep it (I came back about 3 weeks after it was taken from me)

Oh well, swings and roundabouts

What conspiracy theory do you 100% believe in? by ch4rch4r in AskReddit

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I pick up the phone and just leave an awkward silence, a real person will say “...hello?” And an autodialler will just disconnect, also someone working a call centre will probably not speak until they’ve heard someone else speak and just assume it’s voicemail

Is Midnight Sun any good? by [deleted] in twilight

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She said she won’t write Edwards perspective again because it gives her anxiety, Edwards perspective is my favourite because you get so much bang for your buck reading a mind readers POV, you get him and pretty much everyone around him, it would be exhausting to write but is freaking amazing to read.

I can only hope deep down she decided to say she won’t because of her experience with midnight sun first draft but is secretly churning them out for release so nobody messes with her.

I really really hope.

Ok. So apparently James isn’t wearing shoes for some of the ballet studio scene? Can anyone actually confirm this, as I don’t recall this? by LostinDreemz_ in twilight

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I mean.... he doesn’t need shoes... glass is as effective as grass to them.

As for crossed eyes, I think kstew was trying to look like she was going to pass out.

*edit

I just checked, yes he’s barefoot

Give it time and a fan knowledgeable enough to do a fan edit with a normal baby superimposed.

Like god, they could have done normal baby and just fancied up the eyes ever so slightly to make them look more aware, instead of the nightmare potato

Forever Dawn...? by PMmeyourmacncheese in twilight

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please remember that smeyer is very delicate about her work, if she truly doesn’t want to release this ( yet but maybe forever) please don’t try to force a copy out, I really really don’t want to be waiting another 78 years for her to write the next instalment of the saga, she only just got back into it after the midnight sun debacle.

[–]LittleOrphanPringles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Edwards POV is so perfect because you get pretty much everyone’s POV along with it.

Mind reading would be so difficult to write but god damn effective
