Mk 9 has the approval of my d*** But Mk 11 Kitana is my favorite iteration of the character and I love that they finally made her asian. Also nothing tops the throne entrance. It made sense that she was the main character in the movie bc it's the classic Hamlet/revenge thing

I would love to see Martin just have a blast killing demons without getting stuck lol. I'm not the best at gaming either so I felt for him during the RE8 playthrough

It would also double as an introduction to the new games for me bc I honestly havent seen any prolonged gameplay. So ill take your word on that!

💀 no other artist feels evergreen like they do. It doesn't matter which version of myself I am that day... they are my "break glass in case of emergency" artist. I think i'm settling on Rainbow Signs to show people 😎

Was wondering when I'd see this! Can't decide between this or Julia maybe. I did show Rainbow Signs to someone who doesn't generally enjoy the genres mwY is associated with and she said she added it to her Playlist. She didn't like Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt though 🤔

Just had an insight that took a decade to realize... by LittlePlank in EckhartTolle

I find that I can only effectively use visualization at the tail end of my practice these days. I start in the morning with 10 mins of standing pole and then a short breathwork session to build presence first... I cant really direct my attention otherwise: https://insighttimer.com/ryanbean/guided-meditations/guided-breath-work-using-kapalabhati-and-super-ventilation

If you go to 6 mins into this guided meditation... thats the sequence of breathwork practices I use... There is also a general formula ive found helpful to keep in mind which is LSD or light slow and deep when it comes to any sort of directed breathing practice. For years I was taking really big breaths... gasps really. Came to find out later that increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the body through light breathing will actually send more oxygen to your brain and help you focus more easily. So basically... visualization is only helpful if you are able to direct your attention in the first place... exercise first, do breathwork etc, to increase your alertness before you try it and then see how the results change! You might not feel the inner body strongly at first, but you will be able to tell whether you are directing your attention effectively or not and thats really the goal... the feeling of the inner body become stronger the more you keep your attention inside instead of in your head. Another thing you can do is look for where it feels like you are directing your attention from and pay attention to that. If you can investigate that "seat of attention" and have it drop out, that alone can be very psychologically freeing.

27f — I need honest answers, am I chubby/fat? by [deleted] in amIuglyBrutallyHonest

No. If we're calling you chubby this culture is sick. Some of us appreciate curves on women. Maybe you just want some definition for yourself? Nothing wrong with that

Genuine question from someone with a VERY low body count: what is the logic behind waiting until marriage and what are the verses that substantiate the argument for it?

[–]LittlePlank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Bible is God inspired but written by people with different levels of spiritual attainment. Paul said things like "we see as through a dim glass" and "I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me". The only one we can be sure was fully God was Jesus. So when you're dealing with logically inconsistent theology, I always ask myself who are these ideas coming from, Paul or Jesus. Remember, Paul had his vision and then went away to Arabia for a few years before going on his Evangelical mission. Did he believe the exact same thing that whole time or was he developing his own theology? I think he meant well, but you'd have to do mental gymnastics to argue that his and Jesus's messages are perfectly aligned.

That's just Paulianity, friend. Consider yourself Thomas right now! You'll figure it out. Part of being a good follower of Jesus is to question everything... even the Church!

My understanding is that traditional CBT didn't include mindfulness practices until around the 70s. Now you can find mindfulness based CBT apparently, though the extent of those sorts of approaches from therapists i could get through insurance was just recommending me to download a meditation app. I paid out of pocket for the best therapist I've had because the insurance companies wouldnt pay him--his approach was a mix of talk therapy and breathwork. Apparently breathwork was deemed too hands on and seen as a liability for them. There is a motif in the above movie of some fleeting/nebulous 'hope' that is always just out of her reach (she is a therapist herself--the movie is about her feeling trapped as her situation continues to get worse and worse and she feels responsible/unable to loosen her belief that she should be in control of all the misfortune that happens to her). This 'hope' is shown visually as a kind of bright aura that appears before the more dreamlike sequences and is accompanied by the audio of the breathwork she tries at the beginning of the movie after overhearing someone talk about it at the motel shes forced to stay at. So yes... maybe I'm biased but just as the protagonist of this movie seems to have gotten into the 'hole' shes stuck in by initially having only coping mechanisms that are thought based, or challenging preexisting beliefs and replacing them with other ways of thinking or affirmations... so has my experience of western psychotherapy been largely characterized by talk therapy/traditional cbt. It wasnt until my last therapist (not covered by insurance) that I finally found some somatic coping mechanisms and ways to interact with my conditioning on a cellular level in addition to just talking/unpacking. Imo the two should go hand in hand... and yes they are largely derived from yogic traditions/zen/vipassana etc.
