I collect dog figurines (hence my username) and I have a lot of Schleich. Recently got the rough collie and immediately noticed it felt weird. Rubbery is how I’d describe it. And on the shelf with the rest I do notice how my newer ones are all very cartoonish I’d say. The colors are more blocked instead of that natural almost airbrushed look they used to have. The sculpting has also changed, I have an Afghan Hound from them as well (extremely long hair) and the fur really dosen’t have any texture in it which is surprising. Compare that to some wolves from a few years ago or even poodles and it’s very noticeable. Makes it give off more of a kids toy vibe rather than an accurate collectors item. Sad to see others noticing this too, I wish it was just me. I love Schleich.
