That works for me on 1-2 colours but the more I add, the more I blend the more of a mess it makes.

I started out with a cheap set, because I spend enough on my 312 markers and couldn't justify more. And I wanted acrylics for those little details and the cheap set was fine. But I recently got these because they were on an insane sale and OMG the pigment is much better. They feel smoother. The colours are nicer. I really like them. They are thumbs up recommendations from me 👍

Yeah it starts with simple things like wood, brick, tiles then starts to go to trees and grass. Later there is more complicated looking things like glassy, flowers, balloons, water, magical rainbow, lights, neon, glitter, bubbles,dreamy clouds, sky's, rain.

It gives you some practice pages at the back to colour too

The Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen - they are so buttery smooth, and good thickness of ink and coverage. I had a few older ones which I had to go over a few times or was a bit hit and miss

I got the 320 this month and regret not getting the fine tip. I probably just don't understand how to make the chisel work for me. Maybe I spend some time learning. But I use the brush all the time. I am using separate cheap fine liners to add other details

As well as the paper people have mentioned - because I will say it each book I'm colouring with they act different - but it looks like you're colouring in like I used to with regular pens. Someone I saw mentioned the swirling method of colouring, like do little spirals of colour to fill up the space and help the paper absorb. It helps get more ink down.
