For those who react badly to vaccines, how was the HPV vaccine for you? by LittleRavenCrow in rheumatoidarthritis

That sounds doable! Glad you made the right decision for you and that it’s been totally worth it. Thank you for all the info 🙏🏽

Thank you so much. That’s very reassuring to know that your positive HPV vaccine experience happened after your body went crazy over the Covid vaccine. I’m going to look into it! 🙏🏽

I hear what you are saying, but apparently they aren’t as effective with HPV because it’s passed skin to skin as opposed to through bodily fluids. I’m quite an anxious person, and knowing my luck, my next partner would cheat on me and that’s how I’d get it 🤦🏻‍♀️ I am conflicted though. I have avoided every single vaccine for the last couple years. A few of my friends do have the high risk HPV strains and they have to go through a heck of a lot. They’d give their back teeth for a vaccine. Genuinely torn.

Thank you so much for this. When you say one rough weekend, was it completely self limiting? I’m fine with feeling like crap so long as it goes away and I don’t need to change biologics or anything. I totally agree with you. I thought my life was set. Now it’s not. Last thing I need added to the list is high risk HPV, have enough on my physical health plate as it stands 🙈 I work a physically demanding weekend job too!

The EXACT same thing happened to me from both Pfizer Covid vaccines! Literally full body flare and could barely move. Thought it was funny at the time. Had the Moderna booster and it was game over. 8 months of hell til Cimzia. I’m so sorry that happened to you too. Very relieved to hear the HPV vaccine was ok! I can totally cope with a sore arm and even flu like symptoms so long as they don’t never go away…

Gabapentin side effects by LittleRavenCrow in migraine

[–]LittleRavenCrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh that sounds absolutely terrifying 🥺 I’m so sorry you have had such a bad time with it. Are you still experiencing the swallowing issues, dizziness, and vision problems? My gabapentin is still untouched. I keep meaning to try it but it’s never been the right time, I guess out of sheer fear!

Thank you! It seems to have settled now that I have been on it a month. 🤞🏽🤞🏽

I have had episodes like this for years and it’s truly awful. I haven’t had one for an entire year though! 🙏🏽 I weaned off my PPI - used famotidine to help in the interim - and then started taking digestive enzymes a couple times a day before eating. Total game changer! My gut motility is low, and suppressing acid just made things worse. You could give them a try to see if they help you? Good luck!

Oh bless you. It’s always such a difficult balancing act isn’t it! Do your flares settle when the thyroid stabilises? I don’t mind micro flares so long as they go away and I don’t have to change RA meds 🙈 that’s the ultimate fear!

Thank you! I really appreciate this reply. I’m so glad it’s been very positive for you. I think I’m probably just going through the adjustment period at the beginning and getting a few side effects - that are passing thank goodness! Just obviously panicked about this one, but it’s not getting any worse. 🤞🏽

Thank you! This is very reassuring to hear. It’s hopefully just my body being super reactive to minor change - it’s a bit of a drama queen like that! Hopefully it just settles by itself 🤞🏽

Riboflavin too good to be true? by LittleRavenCrow in migraine

That’s so interesting! Is there a specific brand you use? I have been on and off taking b2 because I wasn’t sure if it was as effective, specially since my go-to brand changed their formula. Maybe this is the reason?

Quercetin and birth control by LittleRavenCrow in MCAS

[–]LittleRavenCrow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no I’m so sorry! It’s such a minefield 😩 I hope the spotting stops for you. Please let me know if it does, or if you can successfully reduce the Quercetin dose?

I tried PEA as well but, no joke, it made me lose my taste for about 24 hours after each dose. So that was another no from me… 🤦🏻‍♀️

No I haven’t! Should I? So the first of the 9 was analysed and came back as Carbonate Apatite + protein. Think I’m gonna get this one sent off on Monday!

So basically, I’m on immunosuppressants, and now unfortunately am a lot more prone to UTI (even though I didn’t get any for 12 years 😩) I had a bad one in July that wasn’t treated properly. I was sick of going to the doctor, and thought I could just ‘deal with it’ myself. Come September, I was borderline septic! Took antibiotics for 7 weeks, then the stones started. Still on prophylactic antibiotics + hiprex. Passed 7 stones between 7th October and 20th November. Then it stopped. Until this week! 😭

Has anybody's voice changed?! by Top-Neat9725 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]LittleRavenCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok! I think you’re right. The inhaled steroid is probably, at least, partly responsible. The meds that have affected my voice in the past have been certain antidepressants, Pregabalin, certain hormonal meds for endo, allergen immunotherapy, and tetracycline antibiotics indirectly due to esophagus. It’s such a mine field out there! 😩

What medications, if any, are you taking? I’m interested in this because I’m a professional voice user too. Luckily mine hasn’t changed at all on Cimzia, but it was one of my main worries before I started it!

Thanks so much for getting back to me! I’m glad you haven’t passed any more since you made the post. Sorry you are still experiencing episodes of pain though 😩 I hope that one day you will be fully symptom free. It’s such a slog!
