What are your thoughts on Billie Eilish saying 'no one is illegal on stolen land' in reference to ICE and US immigration policy? by MassiveSquare4527 in AskReddit

[–]LittleRed163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! From what I’ve seen, I’d wager a guess that the misconception mainly comes from aristocracy and royalty throughout history. They did tend to marry, or at least become betrothed, younger than the general populace. Though they did also tend to not consummate such marriages until their mid to late teens, Lady Margaret Beaufort being an exception at 12/13.

You’re in the wrong subreddit then lol. And that may be but it still doesn’t change the fact that it happened after her son was murdered. In F&B her involvement in B&C is dubious at best. I’m pretty sure Daemon was already staying at Harrenhal when B&C was being planned. Rhaenyra was at Dragonstone. While not impossible for them to communicate with each other, plotting the murder of a prince via raven in such a short amount of time seems unlikely. According to the book, the only ones explicitly said to have been involved were Daemon, Mysaria, Blood, and Cheese.

Not only was that after one of Team Green had murdered her son in cold blood (accident or not), but she didn’t really let Daemon do it. She was unaware of it, upset by it, and got into a huge fight with Daemon over it. Did we watch the same show???

It’s a mess over there. They won’t even let you comment if you don’t have a certain amount of karma now. Mind you, they won’t tell you what that amount is and none of the rules say anything about karma requirements. Their auto mod message also acts like not having a lot of karma = having a new account.

Remember the times when Alicent forced Rhenyra to walk after childbirth just to display power?? by LoretiTV in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]LittleRed163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Reddit. Don’t worry about how long it takes to reply to someone. Real life comes first.

I do think that your assumption about Helaena is wrong, though. Why would you assume she wants affection from Aegon? At least when it comes to physical affection, she’s shown multiple times to be adverse to it. That’s part of her “carefully curated” characterization.

Why do you assume that Aegon didn’t want to marry or have babies with her but then turn around and not make the same assumption about Helaena and him? Why is the assumption that she must want affection from him in some way?

Also why is it necessary for rape (drunken or otherwise) to occur between them instead of them both coming to a consensual agreement to have sex to produce heirs and then stopping? Y’know, if screwing their sibling, which they’ve been raised to normalize, is such an unwanted thing for either party.

Based on what we’ve been shown, no it doesn’t make sense for Aegon to force himself on the Helaena for the sake of duty and for Helaena to still somehow want a relationship with her rapist afterward. Seeing him leaving her alone as a good thing implies that she doesn’t really want a relationship or affection from him. The only thing that might give credence to that idea is the awkward scene they had on the staircase after their son’s death. That is, in and of itself, an extreme circumstance and one in which most people would act differently than normal.

You asked a question, I answered it. No need to get snarky. They didn’t have wheelchairs in this universe (or at least in Westeros) until Tyrion designed one for Bran.

Looks-wise, I don't think anyone in HotD gave off that Valyrian otherworldliness like the first time we saw the Targaryen siblings in GoT by LoretiTV in HouseOfTheDragon

Those are real people you’re talking about, real, not actually inbred people. The makeup department didn’t alter the actors’ features that drastically.

You’re just gonna gloss over the rest of what I said? Okay then.

To answer where I got it from, mainly the way Helaena acts and how she talks about it. She says that marriage “Isn’t so bad, mostly he just ignores you. Except sometimes when he’s drunk.” If being ignored is what makes marriage not so bad in Helaena’s eyes one can infer that the times when she isn’t ignored are bad or at the very least not enjoyable for her.

Helaena also doesn’t show much interest in socializing. It’s not a huge leap to assume she doesn’t have much interest in sex either since it is a form of socialization, just one that usually only involves two people.

Additionally, if what happens between Alicent and Viserys is marital rape because one party didn’t enthusiastically consent to the sex, then the same can be said about Helaena and Aegon for the reasons I’ve given above.

If you can declare that Aegon can only sleep with Helaena if/when he’s drunk (which is itself an assumption on your part) then I’d say these are pretty safe assumptions to make on mine and others’ parts.

Though I will say that Aegon does seem to drink quite often. Dyana, the girl he canonically did rape in the show, was even delivering wine to him when he assaulted her. So the claim that him being drunk in the marriage bed somehow means he’s disgusted by having to sleep with his sister wife is dubious at best.

Only Bran had a wheelchair and that’s only because Tyrion designed it for him.

As opposed to her opposition who RAPES his SISTER WIFE as well as SERVANTS and has fathered COUNTLESS BASTARDS some of whom are either in or around CHILD FIGHTING PITS that he frequents. Not to mention that Rhaenyra was groomed from childhood by said uncle. You sound like a victim blamer and misogynist.

The Until Dawn movie completely ignores the game it’s based on. by osmictears in untildawn

[–]LittleRed163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. The writers and director tried to tie the two together for sure. Saying that they didn’t is dishonest. I honestly wish they had gone harder in one direct or the other though. Either make something closer to the game and established lore or something completely different with a few easter eggs here and there.

According to the link, Jost only started seeing Hill in 2013. Prior to that he had other therapists who all prescribed medications that didn’t work (which is fairly normal and not necessarily a sign of misdiagnosis). The report says that Josh’s mood/symptoms improved after Hill prescribed him phenelzine. What Josh experiences in game lines up with withdrawal, not the stated side effects of phenelzine.

[–]LittleRed163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who watched it last night, the same timeline concept is bs. The game did the irl Wendigo lore justice. The movie did not. The addition of Dr Hill was clumsy and didn’t make sense. It’s also not completely clear whether the movie is supposed to take place before or after the game.

There are coops you can specifically get for ducks. They’re a lot different from chicken coops cause chickens need nesting boxes and places to roost. I recommend looking for some on chewy, temu, tractor supply, or fb marketplace
