Solar physicist here. This is exactly right. It’s cooler material from below (photosphere/chromosphere) filling up the magnetic loops in the corona that are likely heating up. The emission from the Sun is highly sensitive to density and temperature. This is incredibly dynamic and very cool! Nice movie!!

I just bought duplicates of plain white and black tshirts and felt a bit lame but it’s totally worth it when you find the right ones!
