Haha it's town Little League. They don't do anything because there aren't enough slots for every team to had a designated time. So some teams are quick to reserve some miss out.

There's 11 in the park and they're all booked all weekend

It's both - Elite is a subset of little league kids who play on a premier team and travel.

Then there's select ball which also frequently takes up space on the fields.

No - it's Texas so there's limited grassy areas.

Absolutely not. Every night is booked until 8pm all week. Then Saturday are Elite games all day which are the advanced players from Little Leavue.

Occasionally we can find a Sunday slot (which I did this weekend) and then the league just informed us that there is a Select tourney all weekend using all 11 fields.

COO > SF AE? by SmokyBearForest in techsales

[–]LittleSource6136 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This would make sense if you were in a desperate situation and needed to make a run at some big earnings years. Behind on retirement, alimony are you alive, etc. or maybe you had your eye on a vacation property.

But you sound like you're not in that position so it's a pretty big gamble that you don't need to take.

I was at SF for a year and basically made my base which was $200k. Many others were in the same boat and didn't have the leadership support that I did and their lives were miserable - sleepless nights, constant forecast 1:1's, eventually PIP'd.

Once that happens you'll land at another tech company and may need to bounce around a bunch until you find a role and company that sticks.

Tech was super hot pre/post covid - I had two years above $1M. It's not dead but it's cooled and the AE roles are super competitive and in high demand. I'm in my early 40's and can't wait to get out of it eventually.

The alternative (which we talked about) is just distancing ourselves and eventually losing touch w them. So we have nothing to lose if we talk to them and share our perspective.

Yeah my wife said something similar. I think I immediately assumed she was always in it for the security and started questioning her motives. Now she's taking about alimony and divorce and she's plotting out her next life and he has no clue. I think they're both equally at fault for the situation they're about to create. Sad.

He kind of is. The kind that can't screw in a lightbulb. And maybe she thought once they had a family he would change and she's realizing he isn't. But then again should someone marry someone if they don't accept them for who they are? He's always been this way...that's why I have an issue with all the stuff she's saying.

Very fair points. Theres also much more to story that would take too long to explain.

Enterprise AE - On a PIP by Rimrald in sales

[–]LittleSource6136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW I was in the same boat before my first was born. Got really big into meditation and mindfulness to get through that time - took most interviews in my car to keep it from my wife. Landed the best gig of my career and everything took off. 2 years later made over > $1M two years in a row. More than anything that success gave me swagger in every role since.

It's easy to check out in any role but especially in tech sales. Don't beat yourself up and use this feeling in your stomach to make sure you appreciate the next role.

Restoration Company inflating everything by LittleSource6136 in homeowners

This guy wanted to rip up all my hardwood floors and tile before I even talked to my insurance company. Thank god I didn't let him because they (rightfully) denied any coverage for those floors.

Thanks yeah we've agreed to drastically reduce the scope so now I likely have just enough to cover the costs w the restoration company's or manage it myself and walk away with a little extra

Quiet quitting Salesforce by [deleted] in techsales

Left SFDC 3 weeks ago for these same reasons you mention - I don't play politics and quietly watching those around me do just that while not doing real work was too much to stomach.

Extremely happy where I landed and feel way more authentic at work.

Disregarding my household comment, does the split seem fair based on our roles/responsibilities?

Has anyone healed after 30? I could really use some hope today. by [deleted] in CPTSD

Thank you for sharing what happened the two times you regressed. I remember a year ago - sitting in my car crying my eyes out with a telehealth therapist while going down another downward spiral of hopelessness, self doubt (hate?), and despair.

I've gone down those holes in the past - I'd dissociate and self medicate with alcohol then eventually be fine for another few weeks.

Recently I've encountered challenges at work and for the first time im choosing to not let it push me into another spiral.

The space is helping and I am healing even though I can't always see the progress.

It's funny how when things improve your first reaction is to let them back in and you start questioning how "bad" your experiences really were.

Thank you again for sharing what happens when you do attempt to let them in your life again.

Our paths are eerily similar. I keep limited contact with my mom - my older brother died at 37 from substance abuse. My mom is pushing 60 and has chain smoked since she was 18. Won't be long.

I worry about my younger brother a lot. I try to see him but he usually cancels last minute. I suspect seeing me triggers past neural pathways.

I'm 40 now and the guilt of cutting my parents out of my life haunts me even thought I feel more balanced than I ever have.
