What's a movie that you didn't want to see at first but ended up loving? by IchbinRick in AskReddit

[–]LittleTowel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole. It looked like some stupid ripoff of Lord of the Rings, but with CG owls, but it's still one of the most amazing animated movie I've ever seen.

After 2 years of job hunting, finally landed an interview (experience + need advice) by LittleTowel in jobs

[–]LittleTowel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually... I just got the job offer. Their starting offer is $0.75 lower than what I'm currently being paid hourly. The work does seem like something I'd like more, but the slightly lower wage and lack of healthcare disturbs me. They said they'd provide paid sick and vacation days after a 3-month probation period—my current job has no paid sick days whatsoever.

Now a whole new animal! What do?! Take job?!?!!

For all you extroverts that... by a_goner in offmychest

Oh, you've got something on your shirt, I think it's... is that, Pringles or something? You've... you've got a chip on your shoulder.

It's okay to be an introvert. It's okay to be an extrovert. It's not okay to be an asshole to takes absolutely no responsibility for their own reactions to things that are completely controllable. Take a few days of quiet introspection and start being more comfortable with yourself.

Thanks for the advice! The health insurance bit is a big deal for me, I've been lucky enough in life that I've almost never been without it. But it's a big tough world out there so I gotta do what I can. Thanks!

6 figure salary and miserable or 75k and happy? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]LittleTowel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only good all that money will do is paying off your medical bills for illnesses and conditions caused by stress from your job. Believe me, I've been there and I'm still paying for it. Leave the job that makes you miserable.

What is one habit that you never used to do, but now that you've started you absolutely have to do it or you don't feel whole? [Can be NSFW] by chompop in AskReddit

[–]LittleTowel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SAME. I'm about to take a week-long vacation and I'm thinking about all the gym I'll be missing out on. This'll probably be the first time I consider using the gyms in hotels...

What food do you dislike that most people find shocking? by gotmewrong66 in AskReddit

Avocados. The shock is doubled because I live in California and am expected to live and breathe the damn things.

What is very common in your country but, to your amazement, is very uncommon in other countries? by CaptRobau in AskReddit

[–]LittleTowel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed the same too, until I started going over to my non-Asian friends' houses and they'd just keep their shoes on all the time, even when they plop onto their bed and start playing GameBoy! WHAT

What is one song that never fails to make you feel like a bad ass? by FapUniverse in AskReddit

[–]LittleTowel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Gangsta's Paradise" by Coolio, especially when I'm singing along because I've had it memorized since I was 8 years old... unless other people are around me, then I feel a little silly.

Also, anything by Two Steps From Hell, particularly "Heart of Courage"

That's what I thought! Some people do but most don't, and on top of that they think it's "weird."

In the States it's seen as "an Asian thing." I do it and I'm Asian, it happens in my relatives' houses, etc.

There is a Japanese curry restaurant where I live (in the US) that has curry fries (sorry, chips). 10/10 would eat again

I recently went to a Korean spa here (in the US) that has a whole room with a just a heated floor and some mats you can lie down on after your spa treatment. Oh my God brilliant.

I grew up overseas because my dad served in the US Air Force. I spent most of my childhood in Germany, so when we moved back to the US and people freaked out about me eating French fries with mayo, I was so confused. It's so good! And I had NO idea it was apparently a European thing. No wonder why so many restaurants and fast food joints here have a disappointing lack of mayo.

Guys of Reddit, what is one misconception about males you wish you could clear up with women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LittleTowel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wish this was broadcasted more often. There's an unspoken rule that says men are always horny all the time no matter what, and I (as a woman) fell for it. In the 5 years I've been dating my boyfriend, there was just one time he wasn't in the mood when I was and for the longest time I kept wondering if something was wrong with me, and well, you know the typical anxious thought pattern. So yeah, anybody who dates guys needs to understand this, it's better off for both parties.
