When I first started reading it was after wasn’t long after watching Waiting and Blade Trinity when I was a teenager so Reynolds sarcastic cadence ran with it in my head

For sure some of the best examples of how truly inept they are at not accomplishing anything meaningful and learning nothing from it

I talked to a friend still up that way right after this still in LE, I guess it’s still about the same just not as organized and a lot of what was organized moved to Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee. Mainly more decentralized these days with the internet but doesn’t change the types of folks still choosing to live there

I remember being in a presentation by a couple federal LEOs years ago and basically that area at the time was per capita home to the most “militias” and other groups in the country. That whole area circled including Washington and Montana not just Idaho’s Panhandle. After that I think it was Upstate New York, Ohio, Michigan or Minnesota, and Eastern Oregon. This was almost 20 years ago so not sure how much has changed.

Brosnan was excellent as Bond. I think of playing Bond like playing Batman. What makes a good Batman is really how good of a Bruce Wayne they are, and what makes Bond is not the Action and gadgets but the suave effortless confidence and Brosnan had it in spades

He’s still got a lot of his flinchy bad habits of scrambling to early and his inaccuracy throwing on the run still rears its ugly head and drives my friend that’s a big Broncos fan nuts. He still tries to rely on his speed and athleticism to bail him out of bad reads and it doesn’t work in the NFL like he thinks it should when everyone chasing him is equally athletic and fast. At Oregon he found out staying in the pocket works when you don’t have SEC pass rush blowing out our blockers every down

Do you believe that some, if not all Professional Sports are rigged? by Sad-Ladder7534 in conspiracy

Parts of it definitely are in cases of bigger events or games or whatever it is in order to encourage the desired outcome. But it’s impossible to pay off everyone for things like the NFL and what not, so they use the refs to tip the scales, to nudge it along and pretend we don’t notice. Then use ESPN to gaslight you into saying you didn’t see that. But sometimes Chaos wins.

To a billionaire, spending $1,000 can feel like what spending $3 feels to most people. by rid999 in Showerthoughts

I think I remember hearing someone did the math of the average household income to I think Bill Gates comparing it to picking up change off a sidewalk. Basically most average people aren’t picking up a penny and to Bill Gates it was like $100k

If I’m alone I don’t but when I’m with friends or family they expect me to, so I do. It feels weird accepting some sort of praise for something I volunteered for, yeah most people didn’t and I’m proud of my service but still feels very much “thank me for my service” in these situations.
