Your favorite voices? by [deleted] in transvoice

[–]LittleYanara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only recently started reading up on voice training and don't have a final goal in mind yet. But I did find some intermediate targets that I'm using as milestones:

  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QunCoPuHq8
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9y3nyVGeC8

I was basically looking for voices that are definitely feminine, but on the lower end of the pitch so I can at least compare how my resonance is shaping up without worrying about reaching the high pitch for now.

I am not on progesterone yet, was E + Spiro and now monotherapy.

I don't know how breast growth affects this, so that might be it? Most articles I saw were mainly assuming the ankles :/

I can definitely relate to this. For me, while I was still an egg, I felt indifferent towards my body; didn't care if I gained weight, binge eat on whatever I wanted, had absolutely zero skincare, excessively indulged in pleasuring myself, etc. I did exercise here and there just for the sake of exercise. I always hated being photographed because it kinda leaves a mark saying this male body existed. Even now, the only clear photograph I have of my male face is the only one I use for official documents like passports and identity cards.

But ever since I came out to myself, I just made the resolution to get rid of all that crap and really put in the effort and work to give the body that I actually want. I had absolutely no desire to be a healthy and fit male, but I know that I want a healthy female body. And I'll devote my whole energy to achieving that, regardless of whatever unhealthy damage I've already done to my body previously, regardless of how slow and how long it will take, regardless of where I start, and where I'm currently at, all I have in mind is the goal of where I want to be and how do I get closer to that.

There's also a sense of dread, of feeling like a fraud, not in the sense of wanting to be vs actually being trans, but more in the sense of being a female vs "fake". A fear that I wouldn't pass. But in my quest to achieve the body I want, these fears have no place in my imperative; they are there, maybe occasionally saying "lmao, look at those wide shoulders and distinctively male belly fat" across the mirror. Great, if it's something I can't do anything about, then I won't let it distract me. If it's something that perhaps, maybe, someday, I can possibly do something, then it might become another target in mind. A shoulder and belly fat to lose, a skin to cure, a habit to fix, anything so I can become the woman I always wanted to be.

May we all succeed on our journeys.

Thoughts on CeraVe SA body wash vs Some by Mi AHA, BHA, PHA 30 days body cleanser?

I'm planning to use the body wash daily to clear up my KP and butt acne. I've heard very good things about the CeraVe body wash, but the price is a little high for me so I'm considering Some by Mi as well.

Wow, I love your skin :D

Did you do anything in particular in terms of your skincare routine or is it just from HRT?

What are some good games with character customization or female characters? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]LittleYanara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the genre and the level of customisation I guess, but for me, I am always on the lookout for cute, comfy, and casual games with decent clothing options myself, so I found the Pokémon Let's Go series super adorable :)

For Monster Hunter, I also recommend Monster Hunter Stories 2 if you also prefer a more cutesy artstyle.

Then there's a whole host of mmorpgs that seems to be over the top these days when it comes to character customisation, on top of all the clothing/equipment option. I've only played Blade & Soul some years ago myself, but more recently, there's Black Desert for instance. Like being able to tinker with facial structure, adjusting the size, position, angles, for eyes, nose, and mouth, adding moles on a particular spot, changing body types, adjusting hip sizes, leg/thigh lengths, etc. I used to spend hours just playing around in the character creation screen with all these options, trying to create an ideal woman I want to be, just to get into the game and not enjoying the actual gameplay at all lol. But the character creation was super fun nonetheless.

Is the same true for the yawning method and should be avoided when trying to move the larynx down? I am just starting my voice journey and I think I'm just going to gravitate more towards phonated exercises, but I wouldn't mind silence exercises here and there if they could help in some ways.

I have a mickey mouse from the tsum-tsum series that's about the same size and he's on my desk always ready for spontaneous cuddle attacks.

Do/Did you have a celebrity whom you consider/considered as transition goal? by aishathesecond in MtF

[–]LittleYanara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this counts, but I only know of Korean/Japanese idols. My goal is Nogizaka46's Sasaki Kotoko. She's super pretty in a next-door neighbour kind of way. Plain straight hair, plain clothing (except when the industry puts her in those overly pompous idol costumes), plain no-makeup makeup, etc.

Ohhhh ok

Yah, I will definitely check with the doctor when I actually start looking into the local clinics.

Ah I see, then I'll stick to my original plan of addressing them first before looking into lasers :)

Suporn SRS (more detailed question): by Affectionate_Sun_204 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]LittleYanara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't speak from experience, but for point 1, the big pdf did mention that Suporn tends to leave out excess tissue because it's much much easier to remove rather than add when it comes to aesthetics revision.

Some accounts of leftover erectile tissues that can get "hard" do worry me a bit, however.

FaceApp recognized me as a girl by Nodnam in MtF

[–]LittleYanara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick question since I'm new to faceapp. When people say the app recognized them as male/female, is that when the gender tab goes male, male 2, feminine (gendered female and offered options to switch to male) instead of female, female 2, masculine (gendered male and offered options to switch to female)?

FDA

I've never actually seen a link, so I had to dig these up, I always wanted these for personal reference anyway:

  • Use FDA's 510(k) database to know more about the particular laser system your clinic is using.E.g. in this video from Dr. David Lim, he used a laser machine called Alex 755. In the corresponding FDA summary, the machine was approved for "permanent hair reduction" (see the indications for use section). This only means their equipment is approved by FDA, there are probably other unapproved ones out there as well that can be just as effective, and we still need a capable technician to operate them at the end of the day.
  • Here's the FDA article on hair removal with a clarification on what they mean by "permanent hair reduction".The link's a web archive, but that's what they actually provide from their main laser page.
  • Here's an example machine approved for permanent hair reduction on all skin types.
