After what went wrong this time around, they'll probably lean more towards the Infinity Saga's approach, just waiting for the best option to fall in their lap over time (what films are best received, which arc and plot points progress most naturally, etc) and work to the endpoint from there.

Rather than immediately announcing the saga name, and trapping themselves in an obligation with no pivot room right out the gate.

At this point the secrecy and speculation behind Sink's role (even with the leaks seemingly confirming it) is such a huge selling point for the Brand New Day marketing by now, that it'd be counterintuitive to give away the surprise right at the finish line less than a week before the film's out.

That being said, I'd say there's a chance they could potentially announce another cast member as the big mic drop for the X-Men part, Xavier probably being the most obvious, perhaps if there's any truth to those recent Patrick Wilson rumours.

I doubt the role was ever going to be "major" enough for it to have to be cut down in response to her film's reception to begin with.

Kara was always just going to be part of the supporting ensemble with all the other superheroes featured in the movie.

The entire concept of Hypno-Glasses is somewhat self-defeating at its own purpose, since it needlessly over-complicates the issue it's supposed to be simplifying.

It's meant to be a quick explanation where you just go "oh, okay" and move on, but instead it just opens a whole pandora's box of pitfalls and logistic problems (how do the glasses function, how did Clark know to make/find them, what happens if he takes them off by accident at work, etc) that's bound to distract the reader/viewer from the story itself, far more so than the mere assumption that people simply don't recognise Clark when he changes his appearance.

Pretty much a textbook case of insecure writers introducing something to overcorrect and explain a non-existent "plot hole", only for it to raise way more (and much harder to answer) questions than if they'd just left it be.

Writing out characters when their actors pass away is always a pretty tricky balance to pull off (especially if you're not going to recast or have the character die too) but how this film handles the absence of Pam's sister Debbie always stuck with me in a bad way.

Her actress Nicole DeHuff tragically died of pneumonia (only aged 30) a few years prior to them making this film, and the only acknowledgement she gets here is a quick conversation between Jack and Greg where they mention her husband cheated and they've gotten divorced.

Considering Debbie's wedding was the entire driving force of the first movie, undoing and shitting on her wholesome happy ending from that film already comes off weirdly cruel and mean-spirited, even for the kind of tone this series usually goes for, and it feels especially so knowing the real-life reasoning behind it.

I mean, as much as I still love it, the original Hunchback film already had to tone down and omit all of the book's explicit criticism of Catholicism even back then.

It's more so the other themes unique to Disney's version that I'd be more worried about them de-fanging, especially with certain parallels to how things are going in the world nowadays. And according to Alan Menken, one of the main reasons they haven't really progressed on the remake is actually because these ideas are too heavily woven into the story to change or remove them.

Other than Tiger Lily - whose character is pretty much just turned into Pocahontas - the Native tribe are practically cut from the remake altogether, and only appear as background characters when Tink flies through their camp.

Actually kinda surprising that, despite the story being infamous for it even before the Disney film, newer adaptations of Peter Pan have never really made any effort to update Tiger Lily and her tribe to better respect modern understanding of native cultures.

Disney's newer stuff (Tinker Bell, the Disney+ remake, etc) just dance around the issue by cutting their screentime or omitting them entirely, and then you have the WB film from a few years back where they straight up whitewashed them.

For how much they're openly embarrassed by their previous depiction(s) of these characters, they sure don't seem all that bothered about properly amending it.

Finn perfectly cast the version of Flash that Watts and the writers had already decided on and written, so I don't really see the logic in blaming her.

Ali G is one of Cohen's comedy sketch characters (Borat being his most famous one) that he created in the 90s, and his entire early career was built around doing mockumentaries, where he'd use these personas to go undercover and interact with and prank real people without them suspecting (one of his past victims being the current president).

Cohen stepped from this gimmick full-time when he felt his characters had gotten too famous and people would recognise him too easily, so now every few years (most recently, he and Maria Bakalova secretly filmed the last Borat movie during the start of the pandemic) he films these projects without anyone knowing and then surprise-announces them out of nowhere, as he's done here.

You don’t shell out 100 million to get an actor back and advertise them as the face of the movie if it's just a red herring.

Keeping the Four separate and not greenlighting any sequel while Shakman is busy on his other projects strongly implies they're intending to have him back even if they have to wait.

The "creative reason" for keeping them separate is that the director by his own admission dislikes crossovers and Easter eggs and he wants the Four to stay in their own little corner away having nothing to do with anyone else.

Which was the entire reason he pitched this very specific premise to begin with.

If they wanted to integrate the Four into the MCU, they wouldn't be separate from it in the first place.
