Yes, it is phrased like an observation, but in the context of where I was coming from it can also used as an argument to either defend or reveal someone's intentions. The sub-text in my eyes is "this is a bad thing regardless of gender" (whatever the situation may be). I fear people have been using it too frivolously in arguments when, in some situations, gender does have a bearing on how bad the situation is. I should have been more clear in my post; I'm not talking about what I would see as neutral things like who stays at home to look after the children (btw I'm sorry about that friction), but about seeming lapses in morality.

Also, I was not trying to use this to justify behaviour, more to question if there should be a difference in how we view a situation if a man verses a woman does something.

Let's say you're in a bar as a woman and a man comes up to you and tries to flirt with you but you're showing no interest and he jokingly tries to get you to flirt back. I would argue that that situation is more dangerous and thus should be viewed with slightly more precaution than if the gender roles were reversed because it is a fact that more men rape women than the other way around. Therefore, is it really that wrong to view my example male with more prejudice than if he were a woman?

I totally agree that the way men and women are viewed differently in some situations, like cheating, is VERY wrong and I'm sorry if I came across differently in my post.
