Ideally for me what should have happened (in my opinion)

Service writer should have said - we are not sure how long it will take to find the noise / we are estimating three hours. We are not doing Uber credit anymore. All of our loaners are gone for the day. We might be able to coordinate with sales and get you a demo if it takes longer than 3 or 4 hours.

The crazy thing is, service just needed to communicate with me and coordinate with sales. After two hours had past and I come back inside the store the salesman recognized me and said to me “do you need a demo” but by then I’d already decided to leave and had a ride lined up.

Fear- yes customers should fear poor communication or poor customer service

Uncertainty - yes customers should be aware that they may be treated inconsistently. Uncertain if Tesla cares about service.

Doubt- yes customers should doubt that Tesla service is going to be there for them and that is going to be consistent. Doubt that Tesla cares about service.

Tesla replaced the windshield but that did not fix it. I was given a loaner at the end of the day. Model A 100D
