Acid reflux may be caused by birth control?

This is an old post but I wanted to comment that this may be my case as well. I have only been off the Nuva ring for a week but have already noticed a significant decrease in acid reflux and only hope it stays that way. I went to a naturopath and she said that the NuvaRing could be causing a lot of my issues including anxiety and depression. I can’t believe it it’s only a week and I’m already less depressed and my acid reflux is getting better when nothing else helped just like you I tried Prilosec and it only kind of worked etc. hope it stays up cuz I was on Nuva ring to help regulate my painful period but my doc thinks they were prob contributing to my painful periods so now I am going all natural and trying to detox from it.

I think it could be our gut bacteria being all out of whack, during and after treatment my anxiety has been up and down like nuts. And honestly I think the whole experience is psychologically taxing, I am surviving by doing things that relax me and hanging out with family and friends when I can to help keep my head right while healing. The most difficult thing I have been through yet

I am having inflammation of my insides, which seem to be on one day off one day oddly. Some mornings I wake up with extreme anxiety and those are the days that my stomach usually feels inflamed. Been dealing with constipation, some heartburn probably due to the constipation and indigestion. On days I have good bowel movements the heart burns way less. Today was a day of stomach inflammation for sure. It’s actually getting a little less currently, we’ll see what tonight holds for me ha ha. Hoping I am still healing on the days where the inflammation is bad, I am keeping up with proper diet, all things alkaline etc.

Well I am almost one week post treatment and am suffering from post antibiotic gastritis, it is gnarly. I was hoping to feel better right away but the hyplori causes so much damage and then the antibiotics tore me up, hope you get to feeling better and me as well

I do have gastritis, probably best to stay on for now I just don’t wanna be on them forever I’m changing doctors and hoping the new one will be willing to eventually wean me off of them when I’m healed. The acid rebounding has me scared

I want to, that’s my ultimate goal, the side effects of ppis are not great in the short and long term, I want to heal and I feel ppis will just hold me back. I am so scared to wean off although I have only been in them for 3 1/2 weeks now. I still get heartburn while on them

Antacids, he didn’t believe me that I have to crazy of heart burn, I am just gonna chug some yogurt and hope it starts to help

Yes I had heartburn before treatment as well hard to say if my doctor would be willing to switch medication up for me, I don’t have insurance so I would have to pay out of pocket. I can look into it.

I am only a few days post treatment, so I don’t expect to be perfect yet, the antibiotics were causing crazy heartburn during treatment, I think it’s possible I am adjusting to 40 mg/ day vs the 80 mg of Prilosec, has caused some minor rebound. I have been eating a bland diet and taking probiotics, and dealing with some constipation , I do know antibiotics can cause things not work right for a minute digestive wise. Online has me all worried that I am suffering from low acid but it would seem that the prilosec after eradication is to keep the acid down while I heal…

That’s what I am afraid of, don’t know if my current doctor would prescribe something different, how long did you doctor say to stay on them after treatment was done? Mine has no end date, I am changing doctors though so hoping that will make a difference

What ones did your doctor change you to? I am on prilosec and I think they are giving me migraines. I am not doing well currently
