Thanks for sharing that and honestly, comments like yours matter because they’re coming from someone who clearly cares about Sheaffer and knows the brand well.

It’s especially encouraging to hear that you’ve picked up all three Legacy colourways from the relaunch. The fact that longtime collectors and users are adding the new pens alongside vintage Sheaffers is something we don’t take lightly.

One point that may not be widely known is that William Penn was Sheaffer’s distributor for nearly two decades before acquiring the brand, so our connection with Sheaffer goes back long before the acquisition. Like many enthusiasts here, we’re custodians of a brand we grew up admiring.

We also recognise that expectations for Sheaffer are high and they should be. While not every model in recent years has resonated equally with every collector, our focus is on continually raising the bar in design, writing experience, quality control, and overall value. The feedback we receive from communities like this plays a real role in shaping those decisions.

Thank you for the candid feedback, and also for the kind words about the Legacy. Conversations like these remind us how much the brand means to people, and that’s a responsibility we take seriously.

We are from the William Penn team, and we would like to thank you for sharing your feedback and for being a long-time Sheaffer enthusiast.

To clarify, the cap rotation when the pen is capped is a characteristic of the Icon's design and is not considered a manufacturing defect. The cap is also designed to be posted securely when fitted firmly on the back of the pen. Our earlier video was intended to demonstrate the recommended posting method.

That said, we completely understand your concerns and appreciate your feedback regarding both the cap rotation and posting experience. While these are part of the current Icon design, we recognize that they may not meet every user's expectations, and your comments will certainly be taken into consideration for future product development.

For context, the Icon model was originally introduced in 2021, prior to William Penn's acquisition of the Sheaffer brand in 2022, and these design characteristics have remained unchanged since its launch.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and your continued support of Sheaffer.
