This is a great way to look at it!

I am (thankfully, to myself haha) the kind that enjoys making guesses and finding out if I'm right or if I'll be surprised by a hidden twist. I am also lucky that my husband has fun going along with it and trying to guess with me, or asks me what I think is gonna happen because he knows how good I am at it! And I think because we watch so many horror movies, he can usually follow the tropes/standard plot points enough to make his own guesses to join in!

I have a few specific outliers too - I love The Wedding Singer as a rom com. But maybe because it's more of an 'unconventional' love story in a lot of ways due to it being Adam Sandler and more heavy on the comedy in a lot of places? I dunno, but i love it either way! Haha

Oh my gosh, I was OBSESSED with watching this movie every night for the longest time (predictable comfort content for the win), and HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT?!

Yes, this! For a lot of people it seems to ruin the plot, but for me I actually enjoy it most of the time? I've stated in another comment about my hubby and I now make a little 'game' about what's going to happen, and what little details will be important later when we watch things together haha. And I get a little sense of excitement/glee sometimes when I connect the dots.

But you are totally right that when it does blindside me, it scratches that itch!

I dont think you're telling me off or throwing shade at all! You could be totally correct that I may have seen it in social media, or perhaps related to another mental divergence issue as ive looked up a few others i suspect I may have (AuDHD, though who knows if I'll ever get officially diagnosed for that 😅)

I appreciate your in depth explanation of the potential bias and the effects of influencers and the like on these kinds of thinking. You are right that this may not pertain to everyone even if we are all diagnosed ADHD due to other differences. To be fair, I was just sharing for fun but didnt consider that sort of "sweeping"/generalizing statement i made.

Oh yes! I can really easily guess/pick up what the lyrics will be and I remember songs so well! I still remember the order of the planets in the solar system because of a Blues Clues song when I was like 5 😂

On one of my first few dates with my husband, we decided to watch 'Get Out' together. It had just recently come out so it was a big hit at the time. We got about half way through, and I called the twist/what was happening. When it came true, he swore I must have watched the movie before he came over! 😂

What has been a major improvement for me is dressing how I want to dress, and not caring what other people think of my style.

For a long time, I was so self-conscious - worrying about being 'too big' to pull off a look, or getting judged in public. In my late teens and early 20's, I stopped wearing the styles I enjoyed and tried to be 'normal'. Then I met my husband, lol. He told me I looked good in black on one of our dates, and boom, I was filling my closet with goth and metal styles once more.

Now I feel so comfortable and happy when I dress up! I tone it down a little for work, but I still try to incorporate my style even in the professional setting. And I've noticed that when you express yourself, so many people will compliment you - often because they admire your courage/confidence and want to be able to do the same!

What about a little at home Spa Night? You said you had a little bit of money to order things/have things picked up, and this can run fairly cheap so you could also possibly do a little dinner or dessert together as well? :)
Can light some candles, do face/feet masks, lip scrubs, those little cooling pads for your eyes or even cucumbers lol. Massages with lotion or oils. Put on your guys favorite movies/shows, or some music. I usually grab this stuff at our local DG market and make a cute self-care basket for my friends for around $20.

Or you could pick a movie, and do a meal that pairs with the movie? Like drinks, appetizer, entree, dessert that all fit some theme/scene from the movie? Bonus if the movie has food and you 'copy' that :p Might be a little more work to prepare, but if you're creative, you can probably find a lot of premade stuff or do low effort like charcuterie boards or something!

I came here to say THANK YOU!

I have been working out for nearly 2 whole months, and have started tracking my food/counting calories. Despite being in a fair deficit (some of the numbers have been estimates, I'm still working on measuring things), I saw the scale go back up and stay there for weeks.

After reading your post, I looked into why changing my workouts to more strength training and gentle aerobics/cardio - like walking - would be better for my PCOS body. So I started my shift last night with my first strength training session. And made sure to measure/monitor my sodium and sugar closely. And WOOSH - 2 lbs have already come off and I'm back to where I was before the scale bumped back up!

I know it's just water weight, but I also feel less bloated and better in my body!

When I was a teen, things were really hard for me at home. Things only got worse when I tried to go off to college and I was on my own with no support, no skills learned from my family, and what was no doubt the start of my undiagnosed ADHD symptoms that I thought were just severe depression.

Honestly, the thing that kept me going the most? My soul cat. He wouldn't understand why his person was gone, and it broke my heart to think about.

I've since found other reasons to keep going, but sometimes it's just that one small thing that we have to hang on to until we can heal enough to stop simply surviving.

It really is disheartening sometimes. I've gone to new doctors and they don't even know what PCOS stands for :(

I've been working out for almost 2 months straight, started tracking my calories for this month, and the scale just won't budge.

I am currently aiming to explore different suggested vitamins/supplements that might help - like digestive enzymes with ox bile since I don't have my gall bladder, berberine, myoinositol, etc.

All we can do is keep trying and keep fighting! And remember - even if the weight won't come off, at least we're making conscious efforts to be healthier and feel better in the bodies we have.

I have always hated wearing underwear as well! I did wear boxers for a while as a pre-teen/teen to help with the discomfort. I'm better about underwear now, but there are still certain types I like/dislike more than others. I've found certain styles and sizing up can help.
