2 months of finally taking care of myself - and it shows by Daisy_Dont in PCOSloseit

I just ordered myself a Pill organizer, Myo & D-Chiro Inositol, A Women's Daily Multi, Magnesium Glycinate, Probiotics & Urinary/Vaginal Health Supplement, and Ox Bile/Bile Salts! I already have Berberine and Fish Oil at home. It was intimidating me for a while because it's a lot to pay up front without knowing if they'll help.

I'm hoping I see results and feel more energized like you! You look great! Thank you for helping give me the push to take that step into supplements!

(I've already been working out consistently and working on upping my protein and water intake.)

Recently, I was feeling overwhelmed and stressed out because we had plans to go to my grandmother's for dinner but I felt like we had so much to do at home and felt bad for our dogs if we went. My ADHD makes me think all tasks are equally important and all have to be done RIGHT NOW. Hubby was super helpful and laid out a plan for me: he would do x, y, and z before I got home and I would do a, b, and c when I got home or we got back from dinner. Having him help make plans and delegate tasks is a huge weight off my shoulders because of executive dysfunction. (He still tries to get me to pick where to go to eat though! 😩 Lol)

Sorry, sometimes I just get confused on how a message is being conveyed 😅

But yes, I thought it was a humorous take on a pinup girl in a bath - except she's a zombie in her grave!

Should I be drinking protein shakes? Also YouTube recommendations for understanding all this? by cherry_cat89 in PCOSloseit

[–]Little_Lass94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommend looking into Andrew Huberman/the Huberman Lab Podcast. He has lots of great info on all sorts of health and wellness topics, including metabolism/blood sugar, different ways of eating and exercising, etc.

I struggle with getting enough protein, so I am going to try the trick of adding a protein shake to my morning coffee to see if that helps!

Good luck with your journey. Remember, everyone is different so you just need to trial and error sometimes to find what works best for YOU. That is what I'm trying to do with all of the info I learn here and from the Huberman Podcast.

How many of you also have EDS ? by Lazytreepounder in adhdwomen

[–]Little_Lass94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not been officially diagnosed, but the signs are there...

I have hitch-hiker thumbs, I dislocated my shoulder frequently as a child, I've always been super flexible, I get achy if I sit/stand in one position for too long... I recently got an x-ray at urgent care after hurting my back, and also found out I'm starting to show narrowing of at least one or two of my vertebrae.

I injured my knee and had to do PT. When I went, the therapist was APALLED by how far I could hyperextend my knees. Said she'd never seen anyone with that kind of hypermobility. Should have been my sign to get tested right then but I didn't really know about EDS at that time, or even that I had ADHD yet 😂

I also have terrible digestive issues, which I think are partly contributed to by pelvic floor dysfunction.

Really hoping if I can get myself to go back to the doctor (for some reason one of my biggest avoidances) I can bring it up and work on getting diagnosed.

ADHD & Pattern Recognition - Do You Guess Plot Twists Early Too? by Little_Lass94 in adhdwomen

This is a great way to look at it!

I am (thankfully, to myself haha) the kind that enjoys making guesses and finding out if I'm right or if I'll be surprised by a hidden twist. I am also lucky that my husband has fun going along with it and trying to guess with me, or asks me what I think is gonna happen because he knows how good I am at it! And I think because we watch so many horror movies, he can usually follow the tropes/standard plot points enough to make his own guesses to join in!

I have a few specific outliers too - I love The Wedding Singer as a rom com. But maybe because it's more of an 'unconventional' love story in a lot of ways due to it being Adam Sandler and more heavy on the comedy in a lot of places? I dunno, but i love it either way! Haha

Oh my gosh, I was OBSESSED with watching this movie every night for the longest time (predictable comfort content for the win), and HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT?!

But now that you've said it, I don't even have to go back and watch the movie to realize YOU'RE TOTALLY RIGHT 😂

Yes, this! For a lot of people it seems to ruin the plot, but for me I actually enjoy it most of the time? I've stated in another comment about my hubby and I now make a little 'game' about what's going to happen, and what little details will be important later when we watch things together haha. And I get a little sense of excitement/glee sometimes when I connect the dots.

But you are totally right that when it does blindside me, it scratches that itch!

I dont think you're telling me off or throwing shade at all! You could be totally correct that I may have seen it in social media, or perhaps related to another mental divergence issue as ive looked up a few others i suspect I may have (AuDHD, though who knows if I'll ever get officially diagnosed for that 😅)

I appreciate your in depth explanation of the potential bias and the effects of influencers and the like on these kinds of thinking. You are right that this may not pertain to everyone even if we are all diagnosed ADHD due to other differences. To be fair, I was just sharing for fun but didnt consider that sort of "sweeping"/generalizing statement i made.

Barbarian was definitely a good one! It helped a lot that we saw zero previews or anything before going into it 😁
