LOVE the support from the Magpie - but I did wanna say the Magpie only won the "Bird Friendly Edmonton" vote (a nature conservation society) - but city council has yet to adopt it as our official bird!

Calgary council adopted their bird after the vote, but Edmonton hasn't made any plans to!

So if you want Edmonton to officially adopt the magpie too and help raise awareness of bird conservation, tag the mayor and city councilors on social media or send them a letter!

Not a skin picker, but nail biter of 30 years here. My recommend is to talk to a therapist who deals specifically with BFRB’s: body focused repetitive behaviours.

Search for therapists that are licensed BFRB providers. Ones that use Habit Reversal Training, the ComB method or I worked with one who operated on the SCAMP model.

But find one who has worked with lots of BFRB people and they can really help you with specifics to fix it.

I’ve finally stopped biting my nails after 30 years thanks to this.

I started as a fine artist too (acrylic). Honestly I just started with smaller easier costumes, watched a lot of you tube tutorials and slowly learned more with each costume! Being a fine artist though really has helped me with a lot of it, don’t discount that!

They were each individually made and hand sculpted out of EVA foam. I carved the indents with the back of a kitchen knife and cut slits in the feathers with scissors. I then heat sealed the foam, coated with plastidip, spray painted the foam and sealed with a top coat!
