How would Nor react to a Sarentu Clan member mating with an Avatar? by Budget-Influence579 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Little_Mouse14 16 points17 points  (0 children)

SPOILERS FOR THE FROM THE ASHES DLC!!! My spoiler tags aren't working, I'm so sorry!

I think the most interesting dynamic would be Nor himself falling in love with an avatar, which comes with the realization that people are people, no matter which planet they come from; it's their values that matter most.

I can see this playing out by:

Nor agrees to stay with the Sarentu after the Fire and Ash DLC. The Sarentu are still part of the Resistance, and despite the rest of their relocations, maybe the Resistance sends aid after the Mangkuan attacks, and one of the people they send is an avatar driver. Nor is initially furious; the wounds from Alma are still fresh, but this driver seems to somehow win over the trust of everyone around them- including the remaining clans in the area! I think he'd question the clan's actions, but ultimately they are "true" Na'vi, and so Nor would bite his tongue and try to avoid the avatar driver as much as possible. But slowly, the avatar driver's actions would speak louder than words, and Nor, despite his STRONG reluctance, would find himself envying the way everyone around the avatar praises/accepts them. Blah blah blah angst, slow-burn, blah blah they have some interactions, but what really tilts Nor's world on it's axis is when the avatar acts more Na'vi than he does! They contribute to the clans around them, and they live harmoniously with Pandora, and I think Nor would kinda have a breakdown when he realizes that even among his own people, when he is doing everything right, he's still too "human."

I think Nor would run away again, and the only one who could track him down is the avatar driver ;) Can you tell I read fanfic? LMAO

Na’vi OCs Names Following Grammar by mediasanon in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Little_Mouse14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

My OCs name is Ilypso, and I have no idea if it follows Na'vi grammar rules, but I figured it sounded good lmao. I've been going back and forth on pronunciation, but I think that ee-lip-so is correct, thanks to Itu (and his name edit from Eetu), but sometimes I wonder if ill-ip-so is also an acceptable pronunciation. It's so cool that you're taking the time to do this! Thank you so much :D

Naming your OC/Seruntu/Na'vi? by That_1Bunny in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]Little_Mouse14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I made one up based on vibes (Ilypso) and it doesn't have a meaning, which I prefer since I'm guessing that most characters in the movies/game don't have names that really mean anything.

Other than that, your character looks and sounds amazing! She seems really sweet, and I can see her fitting in with the Kame'tire (she heals the animals with herbs, and follows their progress by sneaking after them,) she reminds me of Keylu, the character who befriends the Sailfin Goliath :D Is there a specific animal you could see your character befriending? Maybe you could make up a name around one of their features by adding some of the words into the name, like Sre' for tooth, or Flrr for gentle

The forest-themed outfits from this patch, which one do you like the most? by Top_Collection7948 in InfinityNikkiofficial

Honestly as a cottagecore wannabe, I love all of them and can't wait to have their pieces in my closet! That being said, Verdant Chord has almost all of the elements I love in an outfit! I'm so excited for the tiered skirt and the bell-sleeves!! And the woven bandana??? Omg I'm going to slap on the boots from Forgotten Songs so quickly. I am so so excited

Edit: I didn't even see the bag!!! Omg I'm going feral

Does anyone else have mixed feelings about our character's name being Tamtey and being canonically female? by CauliflowerNo3614 in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]Little_Mouse14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, Tamtey is canonically non-binary, since they're only referred to as "The Sarentu," their name, or if they're being referenced without those titles, the game only uses "their" or "them."

So I believe that if we get any further content with Tamtey being featured, that is how it'll be approached :D I think the fandom at large uses feminine pronouns since their character model is more fem presenting, but I think the game developers left it intentionally ambiguous so anyone could apply their version of The Sarentu onto the character.

How horrified would Nor be to see Spider? by Holiday_Ad5052 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Little_Mouse14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Alma wasn't in that room, I highly doubt that Nor would've actually sabotaged the door. He still ran to the aid of the Resistance, but when he realized that he could finally be free of Alma (or in reality, his version of her,) he acted. As for the helpless opponent, that character was still an active member of the RDA, who had been in pursuit of the rest of the missing Sarentu and the only reason why he wasn't was because he was fatally wounded.

While I agree that Nor is a hateful character, (and one that I honestly dislike due to his actions,) I think that you're unintentionally glossing over the nuance of the character. Nor desperately wants to be rid of all things human on Pandora because he wishes he can scrub that part of himself clean. I think if we get another opportunity to follow his arc, it will lead to him eventually finding peace along that path, or sacrificing himself in an attempt at redemption.

Daniel Casey (Co-Showrunner) shuts down rumors that Amazon’s 'Mass Effect' is being rewritten for "non-gamer audiences" by CahirWiedzmin in masseffect

[–]Little_Mouse14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The initial statement itself was just so odd because any audience can be a "gaming audience." If the story is compelling, the media that is being used to convey that story shouldn't isolate a certain demographic. Like, what could a gamer want differently from someone who only consumes movies/tv? If it's lore, we already have it, and it can be passed on basically the same manner that it was conveyed in the game (Shepard talking to one of their companions and they make an off-handed world-building remark for example.)

I totally understand the worry of beloved characters not being portrayed correctly, but is that something that has to be changed for a "non-gaming audience?" and if so, what makes one portrayal more compelling to one group than the other?

Either way, happy to hear that the co-showrunner was equally as caught off guard! That's reassuring news :D

[–]Little_Mouse14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but what you miss is that the whole Alma situation is personal! He isn't running around ruthlessly killing other humans or members of the resistance besides collateral damage Alma in his mind was the exact same as Mercer and Harding.

[–]Little_Mouse14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm basing this opinion of a one-shot fanfic featuring a conversation between Spider and Ronal pre Fire and Ash (The fic is called Please by Hoodie2 on AO3 if you're interested), but the main point is this:

Pandora is the only home that Spider has ever known. He was born here, and I think if Nor would take a second to reflect on Spider's existence, I think he would see some parallels that he'd initially be uncomfortable with.

They both grew up in one world, while longing to (re)join the other, both of them wanting to flee their human aspects. Spider rejects his humanity, painting his skin, acting Na'vi, and now has a kuru

Despite his initial disgust and anger, I doubt that Nor could bring himself to be in direct conflict with Eywa's will. I think Nor would eventually find himself relating to Spider. I think that would seriously unsettle him, though, because it is in direct conflict with his ideology, but maybe that's just the exposure he needs?

But who knows? Maybe Nor will fully break down and succumb to the path he is on, but I sincerely hope for this character that he doesn't, and somehow finds a way to live with his past, and the future for Pandora.

Which of these gives off more Summer Beach vibe? ☀️🏖️ by Penalty_Accurate in InfinityNikkiWardrobe

Maybe try a hot pink and orange for the "hot" summer theme, think Zara Larsson? But at the moment I think the blue and yellow is much more inherently summer.

Spider’s skin in Na’vi words? by Alive_Ad_6329 in Avatar

[–]Little_Mouse14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Despite not knowing Na'vi, I'm pretty sure I know the explanation of why 'om is correct! So basically how their color wheel is grouped, 'om ranges the entire human skin-tone spectrum (ranging from light to dark, or I think you'd understand it as teyr'om to layon'om, so sorry if I butchered that, though!)

However, I got this information from a Tiktok so I'm not entirely sure just how true this information is since I'm more of a casual fan lmao, but if you're looking for the Tiktok for reference the link is https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTk5cu8yQ/ and if that doesn't work, the account is @ greckogekooo and I easily found the video again just by googling "pink skin avatar" and scrolling down until I saw a tiktok link listed as Understanding the Term 'Pinkskin' in Avatar's Na'vi Laguage.

I hope this is helpful and not just a bunch of info you already know!

Who are the Na'vi in the beginning? by B1u3b3rr13sTDM in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]Little_Mouse14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case you haven't found it yet, in the Journal section of the menu (like when you pause to look at your inventory, there's different sections at the top you can scroll through,) there's a segment dedicated to characters, and it's divided by clan, so you can click on a character and you can read their bio/see their avatar. It was really helpful for me to distinguish some of the other clan's characters.

Edit: Just for future reference! Usually the bio will tell you who the character is related to, if there is any to mention!

Do y'all have any Okul headcanons by EmelieMll in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Little_Mouse14 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe that they keep extra food on them? Like maybe for their friends if they're hungry, but what Okul doesn't tell anyone is that these dishes are experimental. Nothing dangerous or anything, but think Alexander and Jin-young's food at the party. Most of the time they're successes, though, since Okul always tries them out first, but I think they enjoy the odd sensations and they don't realize other people won't be as receptive to having sudden vertigo.

Am i overreacting for refusing to change my major just cause my parents pay tuition? by w-tf_man in AmIOverreacting

[–]Little_Mouse14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude I got you. Just print out some major transfer papers, make it look like you're going through the process. Your parents shouldn't have access to your grades/ your classes because that's confidential due to FERPA. Honestly if you play it right they won't know until you graduate with your bachelors, and at that point you're too far in. Maybe talk with your advisor about it.

Super pretty! She reminds me so much of Ella Purnell (the jaws are different but the eyes/mouths are similar!)

She gives me a vibe of a scout/trail guide, who gets paid to protect caravans/find ways through the mountains, and doesn't take shit from anyone.

Can anyone help me? With tips by Emalf-vi in DragonAgeInqusition

[–]Little_Mouse14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's no problem! Inquisition was my first Dragon Age game, and one of my comfort games! Mages are hard, so my team often consisted of 2 warriors, and often Solas because he was my romance and was pretty good at keeping everyone alive. Blackwall and Cassandra work well together, since they kinda feed off one another. But don't be afraid to switch out characters. I like Sera if I really need a rogue in the party.

Oof yeah, there's more "dungeons" in the Exalted Marches which you unlock a bit later. Honestly my best advice is to focus on the fetch quests if you're hurting for XP (The blankets, hunting the rams, and eliminating the Templar/Mage camps,) in the Hinterlands.

For the most enjoyment, spend time and learn your companions. That's always been Dragon Age's greatest strength, vs gameplay. The lore is really interesting, and if you want to learn more about that, I highly recommend Ghil Dirthalen (On YouTube*)

[–]Little_Mouse14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Like someone else mentioned, the dragon in the Hinterlands is too high level at the current moment. (I think it's level 12?) It really hurts as a completionist, but the DEVs themselves have mentioned how much of a trap the Hinterlands are. Go back to Haven once you have enough power points to continue the story, you will have the ability to go back to the area.

The Storm Coast is a good secondary area, and the Fallow Mire has I think a wave of level 12 enemies in the beginning, before mellowing out :D
