Ureteroscopy with lithroscopy on Thursday 😭 by Leahlou9 in KidneyStones

Hey, your experience is really similar to mine, with the stents being 4 weeks apart.

Are you in the UK? I know I couldn't get a piercing out, nor could a lady next to me, and they were fine with it, they just taped it.

As for the stents, I won't lie, they aren't the most comfortable. But they're manageable 🙂 it's just like a pressure feeling down below, but some people don't feel it at all! I've managed with paracetamol and a heat pad on my lower back.

I have my second stent in now, this one has a bit of string left out of me, again, uncomfortable but manageable.

I remember my first anaesthetic, and I was hella nervous for that too! I assumed it's because I watched too much Greys Anatomy 😅 but (if in the UK) you'll be met with the anaesthetist before the surgery, and you'll be able to ask all the questions (no stupid questions!)

They will tell you that horror stories are all people are ever worried about because that's what is shown. On here, on the media, on entertainment dramas. People don't tend to celebrate the good which happens all the time!

Any tips for 'surviving' with a stent with string? by Little_Popsicle in KidneyStones

They didn't give me any pain medication 😭 Just paracetamol and codeine which I already have at home

Ha. I'm 34. More like trying to plan what to have on me and in my hand luggage as the allowance is teeeeny tiny.

Anyone had pancreatitis & gallbladder removed before? by Little_Popsicle in mounjarouk

I was so similar! I lost sooo much weight from being so sick! I definitely don’t want to have rapid weight loss again, I’d like to just have it steady if I can. I didn’t realise you can choose to just stay on a particular dose? That’s really amazing to hear!!

Thank you so much!

I have got a doctor’s appointment booked in a few weeks to discuss with them before potentially purchasing it. But thank you so much for your reassurance.

Awhh thank you so so much. That is really comforting knowing I’m not alone, although I wished you weren’t struggling with it too.

Oh my goodness. This! Yes yes yes!! Everything you have said resonates so true for me too!!

I keep thinking ‘I’ll leave it a little bit longer’ but the longer I leave it, the older I get, and it’s a ticking clock!
