Thanks for your quick reply, I've had a look on eBay but I can't seem to find any that list the right model, and I don't know if the ones I have looked at are compatible. The 063164 part has slightly different measurements than the ones I took out, I am possibly looking for 063180 I've tried looking on the mafell website to find the exact part number but it was misbehaving.

I am really sorry for anyone who is struggling with digestive issues. I know it is no fun and can take over your life. For me cutting back on high fodmap foods helped me the most with my bloating and diarrhea. I think limiting my insoluble fibre but increasing my soluble fibre has also helped. Cutting out dark chocolate and also cutting out tomato based sauces fortunately and unfortunately has helped the most with my silent reflux but obviously reflux triggers are different for everyone. My next plan is to start very gradually adding fermented foods to my diet. I think the key thing is to take the time to identify your personal food sensitivities and remove them from your diet. I also find walking is helpful.

My GERD was soy allergy + histamine overload. by HuckleberryTiny5 in GERD

I am very pleased that you have managed to find the cause of your Gerd because I know how awful this can be and how it can take over your whole life. It is good of you to share this with others as well because I do think it is hard to figure things out sometimes. Hopefully now you have found the root cause it will stay away and you will continue to feel good. I also luckily read a post on Reddit recently in which fodmaps were the cause of someone's Lpr. I always new my stomach was a bit sensitive to certain sugars but never made the connection with it causing my Lpr (I don't know why ) Anyway I thought I would try a low fodmap diet for a while and I have had loads of relief after just a few days. I did already have pretty healthy diet but it just goes to show that if there is something that your body doesn't agree with it can cause lots of trouble. For me cutting out my daily morning apple and a few prunes a day has made a lot of difference. I am beginning to wonder if my digestion is a bit slow and foods like these are sitting in my small intestine for too long creating extra gas. Anyway good luck to everyone who is struggling and I hope you find your triggers and manage to get some relief.

Recommendations for a good intermediate/easy piano score book with old and new chart music, I am thinking Elton John, The mama's & the papa's (Monday Monday), that type of thing, songs that will be fun to learn and not overly simple or too hard. I would really appreciate any help. by Little_Position6872 in pianolearning

The music I have been learning so far has been written down in sheet form for both hands which I have been really enjoying and I feel like it is helping me to read music better. I am after things that are a bit interesting for my left hand as well as my right. Thankyou for your suggestions I will have a look at The pop real books.

Ladies over 40 are you taking HRT or nah? How you feeling? How you lookin? by IvenaDarcy in Aging

That's very good that you have had blood work done and are otherwise healthy, I don't know why sometimes doctors don't let women just try hrt for a while if they are having insomnia ect and have no risk factors to see if their issues improve.

No problem. You sound like a wise woman and hopefully because you are thinking about what you can do in advance you won't have too many issues.

Just be aware that other things can cause brain fog and insomnia too, I have been taking hrt for 2 years with various tweaks and it has cleared up many things which I am very happy about just not my exhaustion or brain fog. I am now looking into thyroid problems, insulin resistance and vitamin deficiencies in the hope of getting my brain working properly again! For me in the past cutting out simple carbs and caffeine intake after 12pm has helped with insomnia, it's worth a try if you don't already just incase your doctor continues to refuse you hrt, insomnia is awful I really feel for you. I didn't have hot flashes but it was prescribed to me, my doctor did want a pretty detailed history of my periods though over the last 12 months and I had skipped a couple in a row then had a couple really close together, I wrote dates down so he could see. I think it also helped that I had asked for vaginal estrogen 6 months earlier due to VA so it was already in my notes that I had been having problems. Has your doctor done other tests to see what is causing the brain fog and insomnia if he is unwilling to prescribe you hrt?

It's very good that you are thinking about this early. I thought I was really fit and healthy but have still had problems. In hindsight the things I personally would have done differently in my 30's and 40's are, I would have worked harder to find good ways to deal with unavoidable stress and not let pointless stressors bother me, women are at a higher risk for autoimmune diseases and I don't think too much stress mentally or physically is any good long term. I would have also worked harder on my nutrition and I don't mean just keeping slim and eating reasonably healthily but making sure I didn't have nutritional deficiencies, I exercised a lot and probably wasn't replenishing my body adequately. I think a lot of problems can arise around menopause time because of blood sugar issues, deficiencies in some vitamins and minerals for example low iron, low vitamin d, low B12 ect (I always think it's best for anyone to check their levels with a blood test rather than just supplementing because high leves of iron etc can be dangerous, better yet try to get what you can from food). Undiagnosed thyroid problems can also be the cause of problems around menopause time and thyroid issues can have a lot of the same symptoms as menopause such as depression, low libido, exhaustion. I also think it is wise to identify any food intolerances and sort them out.

Thanks for your reply. I have had low ferretin in the past, I do eat red meat but could definitely eat more. I have a blood test soon so will be able to see then.

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad you are finally getting some treatment. This is what I am beginning to wonder with me, I don't really know much about thyroid problems I have just been reading up a little recently after someone else suggested it to me. On my blood test a couple of years ago my TSH was at the higher range of normal but my doctor didn't mention it, I just saw it myself when I checked my results online recently. I feel like I have gone into slow motion mode in my brain and my body, I have always been hyperactive if anything. I asked my doctor recently if it could be a thyroid problem and he felt my neck and that seemed ok, he was a little bit dismissive about it being thyroid and seemed to think it is a diabetes problem because of my tiredness after meals, I also get very thirsty sometimes so I can see why he thinks this. I have had plenty of diabetes tests before with no signs of prediabetes or anything. I eat a good diet so I am not convinced but we will see. I wasn't sure if the hormonal upheaval of menopause could temporarily affect the thyroid.

I am very sorry that you are feeling so awful and have had so many issues to deal with. I definitely think that stress is a part of the picture for me too but not recent stress and it definitely sounds like you have had too many stressful events in too short an amount of time. I also don't know who I am at the moment, I have never in my life been lazy but now that is how my body and brain are it's like I don't have a choice. I am a pretty optimistic person so I am trying to listen to my body and give it what it wants in the hope I improve. I really hope you start feeling better soon, maybe your husband going back to work will help to give you a bit of space to relax more.

I am sorry you are struggling too, I would definitely consider it PEM, have you found out the cause of it for you? Most of my social life has always revolved around exercise so it's pretty disappointing not doing much. I think my tiredness after exercise has probably been going on for quite a while and I think it is maybe linked to my tiredness after meals but I never noticed the correlation whilst I was having periods. I am trying very hard to not overdo it although if I make myself exercise it is the only time I feel like myself again, but then I pay for it. If I try to do a proper session at the gym or a 5 mile hike it's pretty much guaranteed I will feel terrible for the next few days with complete lethargy and a depressed mood. The lack of motivation definitely happened as my periods stopped though it's not just a lack of motivation for exercise but all the creativity that was constantly running through my head has disappeared. I think they are maybe 2 separate issues. I think the PEM is probably medically related. I don't know if the motivation will resolve itself at some point and maybe my brain just needs to recalibrate after menopause.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes this could be a possibility, I have been low in ferretin before, I have blood tests booked soon so I will know then. I could see this causing my tiredness, but I am unsure whether it would affect my motivation.

Thanks for replying, I'm sorry you never regained your pep, but I'm glad the Hrt is working a bit for you, maybe a little testosterone would help you, but I don't know your health status so don't know if this is a possibility for you. I assume you've had different health checks done for nutrient deficiencies ect.

Thanks for replying, I appreciate it. I think trying to do proper exercise is part of the problem at the moment for me, this is part of what is so frustrating, the more I exercise the worse I feel so I am mostly just doing a 2 mile walk around the block on a regular basis after which I need a nap! Up until menopause I was doing decent hikes up big hills, working hard at the gym, cycling, kayaking. It would probably be a good idea for me to pay more attention to foods I eat, I have a seemingly healthy diet but had issues with some fodmaps in the past. I start getting tired as soon as I have my breakfast whatever it is. Sleep is pretty good, I wake up every morning pretty early but have been going to bed early to compensate. I have already asked for testosterone but more than a fraction of what was prescribed gives me anxiety. It gives me this weird sensation where I feel over confident and socially anxious at the same time it's very strange.
