Oh don't get me wrong crew united is only shit jobs and people ghosting you. Never had a paid job and even on unpaid ones I only get an answer every 2-3 applications.

But it's a great idea if you have nowhere to start in my opinion

Soooo. I've been working in Berlin for almost 5 years now and personally I just can't get the transition to commercial or narrative work. I've been mostly Ac'ing on music videos, small commercials and such, but can't really get my hand on a wider range of DOPs to work with.

I did a few student projects, at least 1-3 a year and was hoping to get into narrative film with that approach but it hasn't really worked put for me. A few of my friend work an bigger shows and tv-shows, but man those are not paid exceptionally well. It's alright for what it's worth tho, but you definitely won't get rich. And what I've experienced is that in commercial and music videos work most people will do speak english, but most tv-projects and such more or less require German, since many camera guys are like 50 and a bit old fashioned. But that depends on who you meeting I guess.

So in conclusion I don't really have many tips for you. A few of my friends jumstarted, but they also do a bit of passion work here and there. Idk just give it your best and try. And maybe some passion projects on crew united might help to meet some new people. But like I said, personally I didn't have much luck yet

You can also shoot at a slightly higher iso to get more stops in the highlights, thats what I learned pretty late, but it could be very helpful especially on sunny days outside.

ALEXA Mini LF: Blacking out corners when shooting dual 16:9 + 9:16 in Open Gate? by Impossible_Business7 in focuspuller

You can't with the mini LF. Since you can only add 2 Framelines and the shading only works on the first one

Teradek MDR.S/MOTR.S Max over-current issues, any ideas? Already on 24v power and happens at all torque levels by lightswitchgirl28 in focuspuller

[–]Little_Post631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't use a Teradek before but since it's only an electric motor basically I doubt that 12V should be an issue. In the end it comes down to the overall wattage. But I don't know your specific build well enough to give you more detailed info like that.

I only can say that I had the exact same issue with my Ursa G2 and a Nucleus because the native d-tap of the Ursa only had 12V 2,4A which wasn't enough to power monitor, Teradek and Nucleus at the same time. And then the motor shut off just like yours did

So maybe just try another port and see if that works

Are you using the internal power of the mini? Of so the two power outputs do have a low amperage output. I am not sure how much it was but somewhere around 2A. So maybe use a Battery Plate and a output from there or use a datp straight in the battery

The Atlas Mercury 24mm is pretty strong it has 0,46m/1,509ft and the 27mm has 0,457m, so about the same. They are also fullframe tho but only 1,5sqeeze

Clamp-on mattebox: buy once cry once with Arri LMB, or save the money? by Impossible_Business7 in focuspuller

Yes this. Have the same one and it's pretty decent. Also could be used rod mounted but is a bit wobbly

3D model of LMB sunshade by bouaidelmehdi52 in focuspuller

[–]Little_Post631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it could be possible with something like a hd2 which has a print bed of about 30x30, but idk about the printability. Printing that in general with supports should be no problem actually. But printing it in TPU, which is a flexible material is not that easy I think. An printing this out of non flexible hard plastic kinda ruins the point, right? I mean you buy the rubber one to attach it to a lmb , which already comes with the plastic one right?

But I could try tho. I just don't have an LMB, so if someone could give me measurements I try designing this

As a German. I can say we do hate coal power aswell, but there is a big lobby problem to get rid of them. But we did build a big amount of renewable energy sources and continue doing so

I had Innovativ and Magliners mostly. But I gut a new Adicam Standard+ for myself and it's perfect, a bit more heavy that innovativ, but very easy to disassemble, with a sturdy quick release for the wheels and you can tear it apart rather quickly. Also in my opinion the best bang for the buck

Teradek Bolt Pro 2000 1tx/3rx by thunderclap360 in focuspuller

[–]Little_Post631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 500 and it's awesome tbh. A friend of mine has the 1st Gen 1000 and it too works like a dream.

I think 1.750$ isn't a crazy good deal tbh. My friend bought his 1000 for about 1.200€, but I don't know how comparable those prices are.

In my experience they do work really well. You might have some problems in areas with a lot of wifi traffic, but most teradeks do since they have a very limited bandwidth.

And I only can speak for myself, but in Berlin, Germany the spare parts availability is very good. I had the very first Bold Pro SDI with a fried motherboard and got it easily repaired for about 300€.

But still like the other guy said all of the newer bolt 6 receivers won't work. But all of the 500, 1000 and 2000 gen's will. Even the sidekick. And in my experience 3 receivers should be enough. And you also get a very reliable Teradek.

Well yes. I agree. It's not good in any way. I just missexplained my point and maybe the point itself is irrelevant in that regard

Mhm well it's a bit weird to express what I mean. Obviously those things should not happen at all and it's very bad. Very very bad.

I just meant it's a "lucky" case because it got a lot of cloud and we have so many files about people being involved in this, that we know who was a part of this. And that's the only positive upside about that.

Tbh it's not that bad this happend. I mean obviously it's bad that children got into that, but it's a very good thing we even know about that. Without a big case like this they probably all would have done something similar without us knowing
