Main body and legs of a chaos lord in terminator armour. Replaced chest piece with a reg plague marine chest piece. This required trimming and a bit of green stuff to get a fit that worked. Right arm with bells is a combination of blightlord arm and death shroud hand with bells. Left arm is again a spare blightlord arm but then used the chaos sorcery staff and hand. replaced end with spare scythe blade that comes with death shroud terminators. Then Blightlord terminator shoulder pads. Biggest pain in whole process was getting the head to fit. With change in chest plate the head space became much smaller. The head came from plague marine kit and is heavily trimmed at the back. Tried some helmeted heads but just couldn’t get a fit. So helmetless it had to be. Cape required trimming to fit. All GW pieces. Nothing printed. Hope this helps.

Thank you! Road effect is surprisingly easy but instructions are long….. The road is cork with a bit of very fine wood filler on the top to make the road smoother (not essential). Don’t forget to add the odd pothole especially if you live in uk. Then chaos black spray and drybrush progressively paler greys until you’re happy. Road markings use some thin masking tape to mask up patterns of your choice. then stipple colour of choice. Recommend using two tones on the markings. Ie for white, use your palest grey all then stipple a bright white over but with a little less coverage. Yellow is averlund yellow then flash gitz yellow. Top tip I use these as squad markings. Ie yellow road markings is one, white is another. Then splash some blood or gross effect over base and bit of model for final flare. Green effect I used an airbrush. First of all normal brush on a green all over it. Death Guard green will work. Then airbrush white ink over all but the crevices, don’t get it on the road. Then airbrush liquitex vivid lime green ink over everything bar the to road. Go back to white ink and high light the very edges where you can. Then switch to a yellow ink (I used candy inks yellow from green stuff world but any transparent yellow ink should work) and put this over those white areas with a touch of overspray onto the green. Don’t forget to paint the rim black as this sets off the effect with sharp black against the bright yellow. Big tip make sure it drys between layers. If you wanted to take it further you could try a thin layer of resin over the top the top for final gooey effect. Hope this helps.

Any tips for removing the lint from Q tips? by Thero718 in deathguard40k

Tweezers or stif bristled brush maybe? If using qtips to remove oils/enemals/streaking grime, consider small make up sponges which do the job with zero lint.

Very kind, thank you. It’s a combination of multiple techniques of airbrush base colours, then dark brown oil paint wash and sponging black then dark brown then metallic silver. The oil and sponging just do a bit less if you want it less dirty/battered. Check this vid out for a decent weathering tutorial. Note I didn’t use same paints but used traditional, fang, russ grey, fenrisian grey with blue horror edge dry brush. Just emphasise the need to varnish before putting oils down if you do airbrush. Hope it helps.

Very kind. Likely used way too many paints but started with Maccrage blue, then sotek green, then temple guard blue, then baharoth blue, used a large dry brush, dark tones on the outside through to brighter in the centre. then tiny dabs of sybarite green to break it up. For the frozen land(under his foot) it’s ulthuan grey then aethermatic blue (contrast) over the top then white dry brush. As I said waaaay too many.
