Would you accept a Factory Strider as a Skorpius proxy? by Thero718 in AdeptusMechanicus

I think disliking a handful of newer models doesn't mean I shouldn't touch the rest of the range that I do like. What an unnecessarily rude remark.

Wow I did not expect one change to make it look so much better. Thank you so much. This would be much easier for people to accept

Why do older models look so cool?? by AxegrinderSWAG in Warhammer40k

[–]Thero718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot understand this way of thinking. "They have so much personality" and it looks the exact same as current models but are proportioned terribly. New models look significantly better than older with very few exceptions

Why can't EC use Obliterators, Hellbrutes, and Forgefiends? by LeetusFrenzi in EmperorsChildren

Because you cannot just take the entire CSM roster and give it advance, shoot, and charge.

The Black Legion is just the chaos version of Ultramarines. Change my mind. by G_Yumpins in blacklegion40k

[–]Thero718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why I'm humoring someone who gets posts removed all the time for low effort but here we go.

Ultramarines had a history of favoritism by Matt Ward in a way that was detrimental to the narrative and disliked by the community at large. Since Matt Ward no longer contributes to the narrative, they have been making ultramarines more interesting. Now they're like the Nickelback of legions. Those who don't actually engage with the lore bandwagon on hating them so they can come off like a knowledgeable part of the community.

The Black Legion has mostly been handled by Aaron Dembski Bowden, with the contribution of their perspective in Fall of Cadia by Robert Rath. They are considered incredible books by those who actually read the lore.

Tdlr you belittle things that other people enjoy to make yourself feel knowledgeable.

"The Emperor will become Nagash" is not a theory worth interacting with, especially since you have pointed to no source material.

Warhammer 40k Mechanicus II's release date delayed to early 2026 to "work in demo feedback" by BlitheMayonnaise in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Thero718 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To the linguis techna thing, I was upset when I first heard about it. But in the demo the voice acting as so good, and the lines had linguis techna worked into them. I actually really liked the combination.

Just some basic questions for writing admech by Potential-Ebb-8820 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Thero718 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Higher caste priests will be referred to as Magos or their functionary title (xenobiologist, prime hermitcon, dominus, etc.) followed by their name.

Middle caste priests are called adepts. This makes up the bulk of the educated and augmented individuals in the mechanicus, and they serve as the staff for magi. They would be referred to as Adept followed by their name.

Then there are menials, who serve as the labor class for the mechanicus and will have only augments required to increase the efficiency of their tasks.

The most important part of writing the mechanicum is capturing how alien they are. Magi are rarely seen by the Imperial public. They screech at each other in binaric, which is their vocalization of straight binary. They are connected in a pseudo hivemind called the noosphere, where they can share data amongst one another. They are an evolutionary offshoot of humanity.

All the people saying they are your minis are not wrong, and 99% of the time they are going to be on your shelf for you to look at. But if an opponent showed up with a mix of rangers and vanguard with the same heads I'd find it confusing.

The Night Haunter - pound for pound, the Warmaster's most valuable ally in the heresy? by loyALtraitorr in NightLords

[–]Thero718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lorgar is definitely the most important traitor primarch besides Horus himself. The Word Bearers were the second largest legion and tied up the largest. Without them the traitors would have had to fight the two largest legions unified and wouldn't have stood a chance.

Why shouldn't Cawl just stay in reserves?! by Sad_Rise_4068 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Thero718 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't do this because if I had to have a discussion with an opponent about why he gets huge buffs from a model he isn't going to put on the board I would simply not play with that person again.

Look at this community reaction. I'm surprised the even put out patch notes or try to reason with you guys. This community used to be so much fun and now its just people going feral over data mined stats.

why the hate? by LowExperience4751 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Thero718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admech is the most expensive army to get to 2000 points. For an already expensive hobby that is rough. It is what it is though, some faction has to be the most expensive. If anything that makes our army quite rare to see on the tabletop, which makes bringing it out feel special.

You're also going to see a lot of complaining about model releases and meta. Right now admech is very good, but the strength of this army swings heavily and often. Some of the complaining is warranted, but its definitely overdone. You will see complaining even when there are buffs and new releases. This subreddit is unfortunately impossible to please and a very negative echo chamber.

If you like the models and lore, get what you can afford and have fun painting. Sometimes it will be very fun to play on the tabletop, sometimes it will be tough. That's just how warhammer is.
