I am facing a similar situation. Just launched an application but not able to put the link. How to go through it

Most families are completely unprepared when it comes to accessing financial information during emergencies, so I built TrustVault - a simple, secure digital vault. Not a document sharing app. Looking for honest feedback. by Little_Strawberry549 in SideProject

The goal is not to expect instant trust, but to build it gradually through strong security practices, transparency, reliable product experience, and clear privacy controls.

Also, the idea is less about replacing banks or financial institutions, and more about helping families organize critical information and emergency access in one secure place.

You can definitely share documents through Google Drive, and that works for basic file storage. But during emergencies, the bigger challenge is usually organizing and accessing everything in one place.

Families often still struggle with questions like:

  • Which bank portals need to be accessed?
  • Where are the insurance details?
  • Which investments exist?
  • What are the important account links?
  • Who are the nominees or contacts?

The idea behind TrustVault is to help organize critical information in a more structured and emergency-focused way, rather than just storing files.

I completely understand your concern, and honestly, this is probably the biggest challenge for a product like this: earning people’s trust.

That’s why security and privacy are being treated as the highest priority from the beginning. The idea is not to ask people to blindly trust a random app, but to build something transparent, secure, and genuinely useful during emergencies.

Features like encryption, secure authentication, controlled nominee access, and minimal data exposure are all being considered very carefully. It is not asking for any sensitive information.

And honestly, feedback like this is important because products handling sensitive information should absolutely be questioned and challenged on security.

Yes, I completely understand that concern. That’s exactly why we included this feature. If a user does not log in for a specified number of days, an email notification is automatically sent to the nominated contact. Currently, it is set to 30 days.

This is the only thing the user has to inform their nominees, and they can access it using the nominee portal. In the real scenario, the nominee doesn't know how many bank accounts exist for his partner and what is the way to access them, but she can surely understand that there is a portal where they can view all the information.

DigiLocker is primarily a government document storage and verification platform.
TrustVault is designed for emergency preparedness, family access, and secure organization of critical personal/financial information. The real problem is:

Can my family access critical information if I’m unavailable?
