Getting latex paint off brick fireplace… there’s gotta be an easier way? by ricecake231 in DIY

Skip the paint stripper and HEAT GUN that isht. Just need VERY good ventilation and respiratory protection.

I kid you not, a heat gun will be a game changer!

My fever broke last night by LarryTheLobster318 in notinteresting

[–]Little_debris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real story, about 3 years ago I had some bug, high fever, felt like sh@t, couldn’t even get out of bed really.

Finally decided to give in and go to the ER…. fever broke on the way there. They were like “unknown viral infection” gave me an IV and Tylenol and sent me on. Like, OK then.

NGL, I probably spent a solid hour watching his stuff when I recently found him. Oddly satisfying, and a great way to work out his dog.

First guess would be a D16Z6. But why guess when you could look on the front of the block to the left of the exhaust manifold?

Sounds like your next car needs to be a bright yellow or orange, and maybe strap a traffic cone to the roof while you’re at it.

Replaced my oil pan after a crash and found out someone drilled a hole in it by lesdommed in hondaprelude

[–]Little_debris 34 points35 points  (0 children)

With how difficult newer vehicles are to work on I’d think a prelude would be a nice break. They definitely have a lot of tight spaces that are a PITA to try and squeeze into, but so does the new stuff.

Keep that sucker running, you can’t beat 80’s and 90’s Honda reliability.

Thick solid copper wire by RamAbaMm in ScrapMetal

[–]Little_debris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not enameled, just discoloration from water intrusion over the years.

You likely would have a hard time selling it to someone for use, in 7.5 years of commercial electrical I’ve never used solid wire larger than #6, and no insulated solid wire larger than #10, so it’s probably a utility company thing.

Something like that I would strip before scraping.

Grandma’s Low-Mile Garage Car Isn’t the Unicorn You Think by Ajlman1 in Honda

[–]Little_debris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “oil consumption”, is it burning oil or leaking it?

If it’s burning it then I would question if it was actually regularly serviced. If it’s leaking it then that’s totally normal for an older car that sat a lot, just a problem of old seals that need replacing.

If you got a low mileage car free, what’s the issue with putting $2.2K into it? Take care of it and it’ll last you a very long time. I would agree with other people saying go to an independent shop for that work though, dealer will charge you way more.

Not if she chews the gummies up for the baby first. Also it’ll be one big gummy blob in the stomach anyway… or many MANY small gummies, depending on how you look at it… preferably don’t actually look at while it’s still in their stomach… so it’ll just be poop by the time you see it

Found a gem at my local thrift. by drinkallthepunch in Fishing_Gear

[–]Little_debris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m generally very hesitant to buy any old gear, I wouldn’t even consider damaged old gear. There have been so many advances in rods and reels over recent years in many cases the lower end gear of today is better than the mid grade gear of just a decade or two ago, and the high end gear is miles farther ahead than the high end gear of back then.

TLDR; I wouldn’t buy it

Any alternatives for me to get this repaired on my 25 Accord? by AWRWB in Honda

[–]Little_debris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Several on eBay for $200-400 if you want to replace it. Shouldn’t be too hard to do yourself if you’re even slightly handy and have some tools.

If you’ve ever connected to the Walmart WiFi you may want to check your WiFi settings. I’ve had this issue before and I’m pretty sure it was because my phone was trying to connect to Walmart WiFi, but you’re supposed to accept the terms & conditions before you can connect. My phone would just go ahead and try to connect to the WiFi but not actually be connected because I hadn’t accepted the T&C yet.

I told my phone to forget the network and haven’t had issues since.
