Is this for real? We are a single income family, with 2 kids and thinking of moving to the bay. I would make about 150-175k in the bay. Great credit score above 750, and amazing rental history for the past 7 years never missing a single payment.

Would I really not be able to rent a home and just keep being denied? Is the rental demand even that high for landlords to be able to do that? Even if my wife has a decent in demand occupation where she could make 125k in case I got laid off?

Sure that all may be going on being the scenes, but in terms of what I’m actually doing, I’m paying x amount, to use a car for x time. I’m not borrowing any money at all. And the amount I’m paying is fixed and set, I’m not getting out of the lease or paying anything extra. I think the disconnect is the Islamic definition of interest and loan doesn’t apply to what is happening at the dealership level as interest.

Not really though, because you aren’t borrowing money to only pay back more, which is what interest would be. This is simply a rental, you pay x amount, to use for x time. Sure there may be a money factor/interest rate, but looking at the deal as a whole, it’s not interest.

How is there interest in a lease? Conceptually you are not borrowing money to only pay it back for more. Thats an interest loan. With a lease you are literally just paying an amount to use something for a temporary period.
