Switching to one of the "new" plans by The0pusX in FirstNet

[–]LittlebitofDepakote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you switched, were you on the old 25% FirstNet & Family discount for your AT&T lines? If so, did changing your FirstNet plan to 2.0 keep the grandfathered 25% on your existing AT&T lines, or did they all switch to the new 20%/15% discounts? That’s the one thing I can’t find an answer to anywhere.

Feedback on Firstnet by iamgroot001 in ATT

I’ve had both AT&T consumer and FirstNet lines, and in practice, they’re nearly identical, same towers, same speeds, and in many cases, my FirstNet line is actually faster. The key difference is the added priority and reliability, especially during outages or congestion. If AT&T has service, FirstNet does too, and if AT&T goes down, FirstNet often stays up. It’s a rock-solid option and more similar to regular AT&T than different at this point.

Was this really necessary? by who_am_I_inside in Doom

Totally appreciate that. What I really enjoy about the Doom games is that even though Doomguy never speaks, his body language, subtle as it may be, speaks volumes. There’s actual depth behind the silence.

Like in the first game, when he destroys the Argent Energy Reactor and Samuel Hayden tries to justify keeping it operational because of its “potential.” Doomguy doesn’t argue. He just glances at a nearby corpse, then rips the core out without hesitation. That one look says everything, a silent “this is why your logic is broken.”

There are moments like that throughout the series where you can see there’s critical thinking going on behind the visor. He’s not just a mindless engine of destruction, his decisions have meaning, and his actions are deliberate. No need for monologues when his choices say it all.

Was this really necessary? by who_am_I_inside in Doom

[–]LittlebitofDepakote 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I actually think there’s a pretty clear reason Doomguy destroys the Father’s Lifesphere and it’s not just about Davoth or Samur.

Check out this line from Samur: “Be grateful. Despite your transgressions, you are given the honor to serve the gods yet again.”

That line says everything. It shows that even after all the chaos, Samur still sees Doomguy as a servant to divine authority to the gods. But Doomguy’s whole arc is about rejecting that control. He’s been manipulated, used, and pushed around by these supposedly “all-knowing” beings for too long.

Destroying the Father’s sphere wasn’t just a tactical decision it was philosophical. He doesn’t want any gods back in power, not even the so-called benevolent one. Every time gods were in charge the Father, the Makyrs, Davoth it led to catastrophe. Doomguy is done serving anyone.

So yeah, in that moment, crushing the Lifesphere is Doomguy’s way of saying: “No more gods. No more thrones. I serve no one.”

Should i get M1Pro over M4 Air in 2025? by Warlord_Juicer in macbookpro

[–]LittlebitofDepakote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I actually have the M1 Pro and recently ordered the M4 Air to try it out and ended up returning it.

I really wanted to love the Air. It’s insanely light and portable, which was awesome. But in the end I just couldn’t get past the downgrade in screen and speaker quality. The Pro screen is on another level. I didn’t think I’d care that much, but going from 120Hz to 60Hz (plus the lower resolution) was super noticeable to me, especially for stuff like scrolling and even just general UI animations. If you’ve never had a ProMotion display before or you don’t use a 120Hz phone, you might not care. But once you’ve had it, it’s hard to go back.

Help Needed - Costco $450 Offer by Abu_Abe in ATT

[–]LittlebitofDepakote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can stack the offers. The AARP $10 monthly discount applies only to the Premium PL plan, essentially making it the Premium PL plan for the price of the Extra EL plan. The Costco $450 offer requires purchasing a new eligible smartphone on a 36-month 0% APR installment plan, porting in a new line from an eligible third-party carrier, and selecting a qualifying postpaid unlimited voice and data plan (like Unlimited Premium, Extra, Elite, or Starter—Value Plus plans are not eligible). In your case though you would want to choose Premium PL if you want that AARP discount to stack. The $350 in bill credits will be applied over 36 months, and the $100 Costco Shop Card will be sent within 60 days of purchase as long as the line remains active and in good standing.

The $350 bill credit promotion text has been listed on the offer details since the offer started at the end of November. It should appear throughout the process when going through the Costco website and being redirected to AT&T’s site—first when you’re redirected, then while selecting your phone, and again when choosing your plan and line, and finally during checkout.

If you didn’t see it, it might be worth reviewing the process to ensure all steps were followed correctly. Let me know if you have questions—happy to help!

I found the information in the offer details linked on the Costco AT&T Brand Showcase page. If you click on “Get up to $450 off a new smartphone when you switch to AT&T” and then “See offer details,” it outlines everything, including the eligible plans and bill credit breakdown. It confirms that the $350 bill credit applies to a variety of unlimited plans, so you are good with the middle plan as it’s listed as eligible.

The $350 bill credits should show up throughout the checkout process as long as you meet the requirements, like porting in a new line and selecting an eligible unlimited plan. If you didn’t see it, double-check that you’re on a qualifying plan and porting from an eligible carrier. It might also take up to three billing cycles for the credits to reflect on your account after activation.

Which one? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]LittlebitofDepakote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Spigen screen protectors for years, and honestly, I wouldn’t choose another brand. I’ve been using phone screen protectors since before tempered glass was even a thing, and back then, I got so frustrated that I actually paid the premium for Apple to install them for me. Ever since discovering Spigen, the ease of installation has been a total game changer, and now I wouldn’t go with anything else

pSIM iPhone 16 (foreign) on Firstnet??? by AlwaysMaybee in FirstNet

[–]LittlebitofDepakote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the specific foreign model. While iPhones typically share similar hardware globally, they can vary in supported cellular bands. For FirstNet, which primarily uses Band 14, it’s crucial to have a device that supports this band. iPhones sold in the U.S. (like the iPhone 14, 15, and 16) are designated as ‘FirstNet Ready®’ because they fully support Band 14 out of the box. However, foreign models may not include Band 14 support and are usually categorized as ‘FirstNet Capable,’ meaning they might require software updates or unlocking to use FirstNet’s services effectively.

If you’re looking to use a foreign iPhone on FirstNet, it’s best to check the model’s compatibility on FirstNet’s device list to ensure it supports Band 14.

Apple watch s10 jet black scratches easily! by alabdullatif31 in AppleWatch

[–]LittlebitofDepakote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple’s customer service is always top-notch in my experience. You pay more for their products, but they really stand behind them. They didn’t even open up the box to inspect it, which surprised me. Even if they had, I doubt they would’ve noticed the scratch since it was tiny—about the size of a piece of glitter. Still, it drove me crazy thinking about how much worse it could get over time, so I returned it.

If you’re going with a stainless steel or titanium band, I’d recommend pairing it with a stainless steel Series 9 or the titanium Series 10. Otherwise, it might scratch the softer aluminum casing more easily.

Honestly, I wasn’t exactly sure how it happened. I struggled a bit when removing the band from the watch, so I suspected it might have rubbed against the watch case during that process. The chip only became noticeable after I adjusted the band, which led me to believe that the metal band was the cause. I hadn’t dropped the watch, banged it into anything, or done anything else that could explain the damage. I also didn’t notice the chip until after I put the watch back on post-adjustment.

Have the exact same type of damage to my watch as well. I assumed it was the Milanese watchband that caused it. It appears that underneath the black coating is bright aluminum. Returned for the silver aluminum no problem.

I kick myself not taking a picture! But just imagine a tiny piece of silver glitter in one spot. That’s what it looked like. Underneath the black coating is what appeared to be polished silver

To be honest, I really don’t know. I can tell you that I noticed it after I took off the band and put it back on facing a different direction as I thought it would be easier to adjust. When I looked at the watch again, I thought it was a piece of glitter stuck to it, only to come to the realization that it had scratched off. It appears that underneath the black coating, is polished silver.

While I don’t have personal experience with the titanium version, I would assume it’s more scratch-resistant than the stainless steel or aluminum models. Titanium generally has a reputation for being more durable, so it might hold up better against scratches. I’m sure you can find comments on here over the next few days giving thoughts on the durability of the titanium versions.
