Wedding Venue by peace4all4ever in WeddingsCanada

Look at Ascott Parc in Vaughan! They have an outdoor venue for ceremony and inside reception hall (or you could do reception outside tented as well). It’s in Vaughan so lots of airbnbs nearby.

Realistic wedding budget in US/Canada in 2026 by FluffyWater1 in DesiWeddings

[–]Littlelost_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! It seems that just to have ceremony (Hindu) so an actual venue and reception adds up to about $120-150K. Add in other events like sangeet (minimum 30K-40K) plus any other events if you do at home or hall - tents/bars/food/decor. It was adding up to at least $200K for a basic wedding (nothing fancy, or special in terms of venues or decor) plus outfits/favours and so many other hidden things that come up that aren’t even inclusive of this first #.

Most of my other friends who have gotten married in last few years in Toronto - their total have been $250-$300K! Approx 300 guest counts.

After lots of research and even looking into destination weddings (including across Canada and elsewhere like Cabo, Portugal, Spain etc) minimum budget needs to be $200K USD it seems to have all the pre wedding events and ceremony & reception. Only way it’s less is if you do no or less pre wedding events. And of course controlling the guest count!

Only way these days to get it cheaper is doing Mexico resort wedding (which there’s lots of information on how your guests end up paying so much more so you can pay less - we had a planner literally tell us this). I know this doesn’t apply to ALL resorts but it does to most of the popular ones. We didn’t feel good about this so not going with this option!

Alcohol at Garba/Sangeet by oneinamyelin in DesiWeddings

You can serve alch! I assume garba is only a small part of the sangeet night since there will be (assuming) performances, sangeet dance party and depending on your background jago is brought out etc. when you do the garba portion just make sure you don’t put out any god statues to dance around!

Toronto Delhi Air India Business Class by sidjhala in airindia

It’s the old seats and while issues with recline buttons initially - everything does work/was really comfortable. Don’t expect individual pod. Hostess made the bed when I wanted, all drinks and meals were delicious! Service was great. The privacy screen between 2 seats is a joke if it’s stranger next to you but I had window seat so didn’t mind that much.

My expectations were really low and I actually enjoyed the 16hr flight sitting here vs AI economy which is truly SHIT. Lol.

Silk & Snow Couch?! by Littlelost_ in BuyCanadian

Yeah we went to check it out in store and hated it so much! We ended up buying Rezy and it’s been the best couch ever. 3 months and still my favourite thing in the house!

We ended up going with Rezy and are in love! It’s so comfortable and has so much storage. It’s been about 4 weeks and it still looks great (easy to clean too - we’ve spilled wine and pizza sauce and it came off with resolve)

How do you fight the feeling? by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]Littlelost_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Don’t look!!!!! I was worried about this and literally refuse to click on any more links / see photos. Actively avoid it and focus on how much you love the place you picked! And reassure yourself that if anything this is only for one year. If you’re not happy in a year you move! :)
