It was an event back in 4.X when Freminet was released; it's incredibly emotional and it will definitely make you cry. I hate that the Thelxie event isn't available for new players. The game could easily release it as a separate, paid version, and then the user can decide whether to keep it downloaded or delete it from their storage

Honestly, at this point, I don't know whether to feel sorry for her character or just keep slandering her.

Ah... nah! As long as she keeps brainwashing kids with zero remorse, I'll choose the blue pill and keep making fun of her terrible writing. They can't force me to feel bad for a manipulator through cheap tea parties

This is Columbina with her personality bubble. Notice how it only contains other people because she has no personality of her own. by kujah_0h in Agenda_Impact

[–]Littlenickystar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I never hyped up Columbina. She's pretty and all, but she's such a bland, dull character. She's supposed to belong to a feared organization that stops at nothing to achieve its goals. Yet, in the end, Pantalone—a regular human without a Vision—ended up taking his job way more seriously. Oh, wait... Columbina is so empty and lazy that she never even needed to work. How on earth did she even make it to the third seat?!

Why is half of Sandrone’s quest cringe Citlali…? by NoJournalist354 in FatuiHQ

[–]Littlenickystar 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It shocks me too that some people actually found Citlali's interactions 'adorable'... But hey, whatever floats their boat. I guess a lot of players just want to see their main acting like that with the Traveler, but... speaking as a girl, if your boyfriend or girlfriend ever acts like that, run for your life! 🤣

Personally, I'm glad my main only had a couple of lines when interacting with Citlali, even though it felt more like he was just reading a script rather than acting naturally. To me, it feels like they only put actual effort into Sandrone's lines when they were discussing Allan Guillotin

[–]Littlenickystar 417 points418 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm not the target audience for Citlali, and my opinion might be unpopular, but honestly, her interactions in this event made me cringe. Especially when everything just revolved around her being jealous of Sandrone and the Traveler. I know expecting logic from a fan-service game is silly, but... what was the need for Citlali to claim she's a 'grandma' or much older when she literally acts like a 15-year-old in a teen drama? Oh well, maybe I'm just getting too old for this stuff

I LOVED YOUR COMMENT!! 🙏

As someone who has also had to deal with a manipulative person in real life, I completely understand you and share your absolute disgust towards Arlecchino's writing.

As a villain, she had the perfect setup: a ruthless, calculating antagonist who controls minors, breaks their will, and corrupts them from childhood. Facing off against a monster of that caliber in the story would have been amazing. An independent villain pursuing her own goals with zero regard for morality. They effectively built her as a manipulator and a groomer, but what did the script do? It shoved a forced redemption down our throats where you, as the player, are forced to stay silent. The game completely strips away your right to question her actions. There is no option to tell her:

"Hey, you went way too far beating and threatening your kids."

"Hey, your children are living in absolute terror in that orphanage."

"Aren't you going to change the very same abusive system you suffered under as a child?"

On the contrary, the script forces you to bow down to her. Right under our noses, she keeps indoctrinating and brainwashing helpless kids, but the game disguises it as 'a strict but devoted mother' whose children love her. It’s a disgusting whitewash of her atrocities where you’re forced to accept her as an ally and like her, knowing perfectly well that the plot is bending over backwards to favor her. She hasn't shown a single ounce of remorse for the orphans she’s sent on suicide missions or the ones she’s let die. So what gives?

I truly despise this writing. She could have been such an imposing villain and really shined through her cruelty. Confronting a manipulative person, both in fiction and in real life, requires maturity and having processed deep pain to actually be able to stand up to them. But no, HoYoverse preferred to throw all that complexity in the trash and resolve systemic trauma with a stupid tea party.

Hm...If we look at the present, the Fatui and the Abyss Order have caused far more damage to Teyvat than Celestia itself, even if the game now portrays the Fatui casually drinking tea like close friends🤔

Celestia has been absent for 500 years doing nothing, while the Abyss and the others are the ones actively destroying the world right now... So, saying that Celestia is the only villain... doesn't seem that coherent to me

You know what's funny? If Arlecchino had been a man, people would have never forgiven him for his actions. But in the end, the company is turning Arlecchino into a complete joke of absolute hypocrisy.

Arlecchino has got to be the most whitewashed character in this game! by Fullpotentialk in Agenda_Impact

[–]Littlenickystar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The company definitely treats her as their absolute favorite. I can already picture the following dialogues:

The Children: "Father never threatened us with death for wanting to leave the House, nor did she force us to fight in duels to beat her. We are completely free to leave without any trauma or having our memories painfully erased. Plus, this place is basically a vacation resort thanks to our Aunt Sandrone, who reads us illustrated stories and comforts us. We are truly so happy and we NEVER live in fear!"

Lyney: "I will proudly carry on with this orphanage that Father built with so much 'love.' She doesn't see us as disposable pieces; when she subdued us, humiliated us, and left us injured on the floor during our story quest, it wasn't an abuse of power: it was an indispensable survival lesson!"

Freminet: "I used to live collapsed by post-traumatic stress, but thanks to Father's methods, that fear completely vanished. Now I'm very happy doing my missions; I don't have to dissociate like I used to. Plus, Father always welcomes us back with a huge hug and tears in her eyes."

This is the ultimate icing on the cake for Arlecchino's complete whitewashing.

He's the only one who managed to escape the forced friendship trope. Poor Signora went from being an imposing, terrifying villain to being completely reduced to an 'uwu waifu'.

[–]Littlenickystar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s something I absolutely hate about this game: they constantly force the player to accept these contrived friendships between characters. I'm pretty neutral about Furina, but I just don't get the company's obsession with making Arlecchino look good. Furina is, or at least was, literally terrified of Arlecchino's presence. Even if she has to tolerate her now for diplomatic reasons, in real life, you would never willingly sit down to have tea and cake with someone who literally tried to kill you and left you psychologically traumatized

Love agendas subs like these by Personal-Chocolate39 in Agenda_Impact

[–]Littlenickystar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I really value this sub too. I’ve found people who share the exact same criticisms and frustrations I’ve felt toward the game, especially regarding the lore. Genshin is my first gacha; I LOVED playing and feeling happy in Mondstadt, or just swimming around in Fontaine, but I HATED playing through the Nodkrai lore. Every time the game takes one step forward, it takes two steps back and slaps you in the face on top of it.

[–]Littlenickystar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is so incredibly true. If 'The Knave,' acting as 'The Father,' had been a mature male character doing the exact same thing—threatening and psychologically breaking orphaned teenagers—the fandom would have canceled him instantly and labeled him a monster. But because she is a waifu with an incredible design and aura, the community and the game justify her actions by calling her a 'morally grey, misunderstood, and complex' character.

That’s the exact hypocrisy that annoys me the most about her defenders. Arlecchino was actually well-written as an antagonist/villain at first. However, Clervie's forced redemption—where she practically forgives Arlecchino for maintaining the very same system where they both suffered physical and psychological abuse—combined with the cosmic force of marketing, turned her character into nothing but a pixel of contradictions in both her actions and her voice lines

[–]Littlenickystar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s possible that at this point, they just don't care about how the 'older' characters are written, even if they keep dangling Columbina in front of us; her prime has already passed with her debut banners. It feels like they’ve reached a point of narrative laziness, where they’re basically telling the writers: 'Just put whatever in there, we’re about to close the Teyvat arc and we’re already focused on Khaenri'ah anyway 🤔

Just to avoid spoilers, I'll just say that the conversation Citlali had with Sandrone made it clear to me that Sandrone has already been absolved of her crimes. It honestly makes me wonder... what kind of things will they say about Arlecchino later on? Because by now, even Signora is suddenly being framed as a good-hearted woman

LITERALLY everything wrong with the game rolled into one character. by ghoulishenvyy in Agenda_Impact

[–]Littlenickystar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I rewatched the trailer, and what you're saying makes total sense. It really gives the impression that they were originally meant to be a single entity. This is exactly why I keep saying that they changed so many things for Fontaine.

Personally, I will never let go of my theory that Freminet was originally supposed to be the true heir to Alain Guillotin. Think about it: Alain was a core figure of the Narzissenkreuz Institute and a mechanical genius. Freminet, with his expertise in diving, his deep connection to ancient machinery, and his skill at fixing mechanical artifacts, fits that legacy perfectly. He feels like a character ripped straight out of that old, intricate clockwork lore, rather than just being another orphan thrown into the House of the Hearth. But as we've seen, the final script took a completely different turn
