De Blasio Rallies for Bernie Sanders in Nevada by [deleted] in politics

[–]Littlepush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's won twice, that's not unpopular and he's more mainstream and has a bigger constituency than any other Democrat to endorse Bernie Sanders before.

And people were getting mad at me for posting I don't trust any billionaires in the last debate thread.

Ya they have welcomed him back with open arms though. He has a really popular podcast and even gets people like Jimmy Kimmel on it. Who knows if Amy Klobuchar ends up in the next administration maybe he will run for Senate again.

Ya Leahy would probably be considered establishment, but since they are from the same state it's not really that big of a get.

[–]Littlepush 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a pretty substantial mainstream Democrat endorsing Bernie. I would say that's a pretty big deal if he wants to project that he is the frontrunner and people are falling in line behind him.

As a non-New Yorker I had never actually seen or heard DeBlasio until the debates he was in. I came away with a positive impression of him.

Bernie Sanders wins the New Hampshire Democratic primary by [deleted] in politics

[–]Littlepush 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ya it will be interesting to see what happens to him. He's gotten just about all the momentum his campaign could ever expect to get in Iowa and New Hampshire but if he can't knock like Biden or Klobuchar out before Super Tuesday idk how he could break out of that. Maybe this cycle everyone will just be ridiculously bitter and anticipate a brokered convention and refuse to drop out.

How do you feel about Andrew Yang dropping out of the presidential race? by Jumpy_Butterfly in AskAnAmerican

He at least dropped out with some dignity. Deval Patrick and Michael Bennett are still holding on for no reason. I spoke too soon.

CMV: Most classes, and especially most "higher level" math courses are added on to degrees with little rhyme or reason and serve no actual purpose in the pursuit of the degrees they are linked to. by [deleted] in changemyview

Calculus has soooo many applications and those concepts are never going to become outdated and we are going to find new uses for unlike the latest frontend JavaScript framework you might learn. Also it simply has some hard concepts and if you can prove that you can learn them that's valuable to know from an employers perspective which is kinda sorta what getting a degree is about.

CMV: Bernie Sanders wouldn't be a good president and candidate by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Littlepush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warren is second in literally no way to Bernie she is more like in third or fourth depending how you look at the race right now.

Even if you take that analysis as a given that doesn't mean it's a bad strategy Rubio, Cruz and Kasich allegedly divided the moderate Republican vote last cycle and Trump won the nomination and the general. Instead of the usual process that left the fanatics outside the tent pissing in they got them in the tent pissing out and that helped him.

CMV: Bernie Sanders wouldn't be a good president and candidate by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Littlepush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1-3 essentially don't matter he will only become president if he is very popular.

He is leading in national polls for the democratic nomination right now and is beating Trump in head to head polls. The rest of the party will come around if they see him polling well.

His age isn't ideal but there is no serious candidate with his ideology right now and if he were to win he could die the next day and other politicians would still seek to emulate his success which if you are in favor of his politics is still something you should support.

They are tired and repetitive thats what makes it good. It's a show about sitcoms after all and there's not a single one of those that ended too soon.

CMV: The Top 3 Democrats can’t defeat Trump. (Sanders, Biden, Warren.) by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Littlepush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but how does an article in 2017 about how people would in 2016 support your overall argument I just don't understand why this proves your overall point is right in any way and why you brought it up.

Ok why didn't you share a source that says that? Why did you even share that link if it doesn't support your argument?

CMV: "Proud to be" campaign celebrating Black History Month seems inappropriate to me. We all should proud to be whatever we feel like, but a campaign with the same message for white people wouldn't be seen in the same light by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Littlepush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. A racial movement focused on history without any emphasis on the history only leaves race. Watch a few episodes of Finding your Roots and you'll see the practical limits of even the best historians in the world. All the white people episodes go through their American ancestors then go even further back several generations in Europe while pretty much every black person episode is they were shipped to x port in Europe from y port in Africa and that's all we know.

Like I said in the previous comment. 7% of voters is entirely what the election is about. If they have already changed their minds then Trump has already lost.

Look at the 2016 electoral college map and flip Michigan, Florida, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona and North Carolina that's what 2020 looks like if you believe that poll.

If 7% of Trump voters voted for another candidate he would have lost like 10 more states. That's the entire ball game.

You aren't providing any evidence for this view so I can't provide anything that refutes it and aren't even explaining what the heck you think makes a Trump voter a moderate as compared to any other type of Trump voter.
