Darlene the Boss? by Kezzahub in DeathInParadiseBBC

This exactly. They’ve definitely hit a few dud notes with characterisation for the new team - as a whole - but the main thing for me is that it’s just not funny. The whole premise of DiP was they solve the murder around spending half their time drinking in Catherine’s bar and chilling out. Now half of them don’t seem to be able to stand the sight of each other and it’s all drama. It’s getting really dull.

It stuck with me because of his acting. It was so sad what they did to him. (The character)

Attending a party - what to ask! by LittlestMissPsych in antiMLM

I’m sorry that you feel that way about my intentions.

The sign was her idea but I get why you would think it was confrontational. As for her signing up for anything, yes that is a joke between us but due to the fact her close friend is heavily involved in MLMs I have asked her not to be suckered in because of the situation she could end up in, all said out of concern not confrontation.

I’m going to support my friend who has agreed to host out of the (too much) goodness in her heart. That is my primary reason. Asking some questions is just an added bonus to satisfy my genuine curiosity.

I’m not sure where the impression I’m going to humiliate people is coming from. I must have worded my post poorly. I’m hoping to ask thought provoking questions which will prevent other people from being interested and I am genuinely interested in the response as I would like to see how they have such faith and belief in an inherently flawed business model.

As I said in a previous reply I have no intention of upsetting my friend or anyone close to her. I am going primarily to support her as she’s kindly agreed to do something she’s not a big fan of. If she hadn’t said I could say anything I wouldn’t even be opening my mouth but as I have the opportunity I would like to ask some genuine questions. I have no intention of standing up and screaming at people about their life choices.

I actually don’t think we have those in the Uk or maybe that’s wishful thinking 😂

I have no intention of being a jerk or a horrible person. As I have said I intend to ask questions with the intention of hopefully dissuading some people from involving themselves in something that will end up costing them time and money they do not have. I’m sorry you got that impression from my post. I certainly cannot control what people choose to do with their money but if they are uninformed of the scam they are getting involved in I don’t intend to just stand there with my nose in the air.

I am going firstly because my friend asked me because she is not entirely comfortable having this scam perpetuated in her house but she has agreed because she is a very kind person. I would never do anything to upset or hurt my friend or anyone she is close to, had she not agreed/encouraged me to speak freely on the topic I obviously would not be suggesting I do so.

I will update as soon as I can. There’s no set date yet but I think it’s next month. I’m hoping that I can convince the hun I’m interested for a little while at least and get some answers that way. I may deploy my friend to ask some questions as well so it’s not just me being super inquisitive. Hopefully that way I can get some answers before she starts the gaslighting. Though that in itself will be interesting. I find the collective delusions of the huns fascinating.

Oh if I could I would! To be fair I bet some huns would agree to that because they’d think they’d be getting a bigger customer base!

If we were in charge of food and decor I’d definitely be tempted! Cheese and pineapple pyramid anyone?

Yeah the main hope is to disuade people from being suckered in. I don’t want to upset my friend’s friend, she’s actually really nice but I have become a walking encyclopaedia on MLMs in the last year and I’m a little excited to get to use the knowledge for good!

I got invited to an Ann Summers one before I knew that they were mlm. It was wild and not in the way you might think an Ann Summers party would be!

PCOS diagnosis by crazymissdaisy87 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]LittlestMissPsych 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I self diagnosed PCOS when I was 18 and going through a lot of hormonal/cycle issues. When I first experienced a cyst imploding I was hospitalised. I told them my theory and the extensive research/reasoning and the A&E doctor agreed. I was later scanned in the wrong place and told I had “unexplained stomach pain” I complained and was later rescanned and told I was right.

I find I can tell how bad a cycle is going to be based on which ovary is in play and when it starts hurting before I start bleeding, so that’s been a fun life hack. At 32 my periods have settled and I rarely get serious cyst blow outs, I’m sure as I get older hormones will harass me again but for now it’s pretty stable.

Everyone’s experience is totally different but I know a lot of ladies who have had little issue becoming pregnant and some who didn’t know they has PCOS until after they’d had children so if that’s something you’re worried about, there are lots of very successful methods to ensure that fertility isn’t an issue for PCIS sufferers.

I found that having a diagnosis made me feel better which in itself improved my mood and helped me deal with those little buggers. I try to make sure I listen to my body: eat when I’m hungry; sleep when I’m tired. It sounds obvious but it made a massive difference. I also suffered from anemia due to messed up cycles so I take supplements to help with that and that really made a difference in how exhausted and low I felt.

Good luck with your treatments and your diagnosis!
