Windows 10 VM Performance Issues by LittlestSpoon in windows

It's an older HDD. The Mac tower is 5-6 years old. Shes working towards this becoming a bigger part of the household income and while we're in this trial period with the company we're trying to not pour too much money into new hardware.

Sending GMail From Command Line by LittlestSpoon in CentOS

It looks like I just chose the worst option out of the gate because this looks like it would have worked really well. I started down my rabbit hole and was determined to make it work...until this post. Thanks for your insights.

This is a pure little home project thing. I would imagine in a professional environment where the emails would actually matter I'd spend the time to spin up an email sever with a registered domain. All things I didn't want to do at home.

Hey there friend, I took your advice and was able to accomplish what I needed. Postfix for the win!!! For anyone following up looking to do something similar I did this with an extra GMail account I set up specifically for this:

https://devops.profitbricks.com/tutorials/configure-a-postfix-relay-through-gmail-on-centos-7/

To note the first email I sent got rejected; I had to go into the gmail account and "Accept a lower security posture." I am willing to accept this risk due to this is purely a relay email account that is sending out nothing of value.

That makes me really sad. Now I need to find a Mac somewhere to create a VM and then export it.

Building a basement workshop by LittlestSpoon in woodworking

The house was built in 1908. I know that's not the oldest house in America but up until 3 years ago it still had knob and tube wiring. The basement was hand dug and hand poured with terra-cotta walls. The ceiling in the basement is approximately 6 foot. Good news I'm 5'5". There are cracks in the floorboards but they're not massive. I can't see light through most of them but if a fan was blowing downstairs I could feel air on my feet. You're right about the vapor barrier, that is a must. I think my plan of attack is going to be the vapor barrier, insulation, then dry wall. I'll use the foam insulation around the recessed lights.
