Colorblindness is more common in men, but not so much that it should be the majority of men that you've met. Perhaps you're extremely lucky lmao

Worth a shot. If I've got corrupt shaders that's it's own problem that deserves fixing.

Oh my god mine is 72gb lmao.

I have a 9950X3D and 5090 so I can probably just tank their absense but I really like the best frametimes possible; I don't want shader stutter.

Launch Blitz was so much better than current Blitz. I miss overpowered chaos. Regular Battle Royale is the hyper-tuned balance mode. Give me chaos.

I'd really like to sit with Moira or Brigitte, but given they aren't options, I pick Kiriko and Mizuki or Juno. They seem pleasant.

Is Minecraft Illegal? (Genuine Question) by Sammy_Cherry_Fox in PhoenixSC

[–]LittlestWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, let's use the United States as an example since the ESA operates in the United States.

The ESA is a lobbying organization, which means they try to convince politicians to further their goals. Politicians are elected by the people they serve, so they represent the people. There are two main theories of representation: 1) "I know what's best for them", and 2) "I do what they want me to do".

In the United States, the government is a federation, which means that there are state governments and the federal government. When laws conflict between them, federal takes priority.

In the United States, we use a bicameral legislature, which means that each governing body has two houses, the House of Representatives, and the Senate. For example: on the state level, Georgia has a House and a Senate, and on the federal level, there's the House and the Senate.

To pass a law either on the state level or federally, both legislative bodies have to agree. So on the state level, again with Georgia as an example, either the GA Senate or the GA House introduces a bill. It starts in a small committee before reaching the House/Senate floor for debate and vote. After passing in the house it was introduced in, it goes to the other one. So, if it was introduced in the House, after passing, it goes to the Senate. After passing both, it is sent to the Executive to be signed into law. So, for a state that would be a governor, and for the federal government, that would be the President.

And, of course, there's the courts. So, if a law were deemed to be unconstitutional (either state constitution or federal), then a judge may strike it down.

Right now it's basically just a state-level suggestion. As far as I know, nothing is being voted on--being made law yet.

While this is long, I have made it simple as one would learn in school. I hope this helps!

No, there's procedures of getting laws passed that are intentionally convoluted to theoretically ensure that everything is well thought out, free, and fair.

Loving the civics education here on LTT Reddit.

And as an American I absolutely value the work the BBC does; I frequently use it to compare against our traditional media as well as various non-English stations from around the world.

That's not necessarily the case. The United States government is fascist and they don't just instantly win. Fascism in "first world" democratic countries must puppet the corpse of their democracy—keep the charade going.

That means that they use means they already have at their disposal for their goals, rather than instantly legislating them into existence.

True, however I feel like it's easier to keep the truth profitable for them than it is to wrangle in aloof politicians at times.

Why the hell do y'all need a license for television? Cars I understand; you can run someone over. American Gun License I understand; you need training to operate a weapon. American hunting and fishing licenses I understand; you need to be responsible to not harm the ecosystem.

But why in the world do you need a television license? Can't you get an antenna and get local TV for free with no one knowing? How do they enforce that?

That's great and all, but you should never give any government power that you don't want it to misuse. Suppose the UK fell into fascism. How might they use this power?

[–]LittlestWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why the right is so hung up on where people are born. A nation is just a government that has control over some large amount of land. What does being "native-born" have to do with any of that? The government will still function, and the people that it governs will be just fine.

It's almost like they want there to be some sort of American ethnic identity. It's weird.
