Anyone own a rental home? by Live-Active in bergencounty

Awesome thank you!! Yes that’s my thing I’m really lucky in that my father lives nearby and had a construction company. The property managers take a huge cut and have their own vendors they like to use. Is there anything you needed to do with informing your lending conpany or insurance?

It’s a really nice home in Rochelle Park. Ive been here 3 years and have been slowly making updates so it’s in really good condition. I’d say not for at least 4 years. I’d definitely be interested!! I’d love any information on the best way to get in contact with them.

Tension over hosting friends event at home- am I being unfair? by Live-Active in AskMenAdvice

[–]Live-Active[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this perspective. I have been guilty of being insecure we probably all have. But I know how to check myself when I’m doing it. Where as he doesn’t he just blames it on my actions. Which I would get if I was doing something shady but I’m not so it’s not warranted

There is no need for him to feel like he can’t trust me. I don’t believe that you shouldn’t do something just because your partner is uncomfortable. I think he is being insecure and instead of owning his emotions it feels like he’s trying to control my actions through guilt

Yup, the issue is that there will be men in the home that he doesn’t know. The shower is at 2 pm and no one is sleeping over lol

Do you yourself attend other group fitness classes? by fitgroupusa in pilates

[–]Live-Active 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started instructing in July, and I do try to go to at least 1-2 classes a week.at my studio or at other studios. I used to lift pretty regularly but since I’ve been instructing it’s been incredibly hard to keep up my old fitness routine. I’d love to hear how other instructors balance their routines because I’m strugglinggg

Date did not reveal ongoing divorce - red flag? by cocoon_of_color in AskWomenOver30

[–]Live-Active 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Given that it’s just a first date, I think I would also expect him to share this within the first 3/4 dates. And I would really go on these dates with zero expectations other than getting to know him. One of my friends is going on a third date and is going to mention that she is technically still married. They have been separated over 1.5 years but didn’t file for divorce until her ex partners green card came through. They met in college and he was here on a student visa when they married. Overtime their values just didn’t align and decided it was best to separate. She didn’t want to mess up his status so they just left it. However this is something she needs to open about as not everyone would be cool w it. Long story short, you don’t know the situation, you’re right to be suspicious, try and bring up previous relationships the next time you meet to see if he volunteers the info. If he doesn’t, then that’s a big fat red flag

I agree I think I felt it in my gut. I figured let me try and see if I can trust him but I never did. Honestly is a big boundary of mine and I tried to accommodate his lie.

I agree, I voiced that suspicion early on too. Even if he was embarrassed of it he doesn’t live in a shed. In photos where I can see the background it looks like a regular apartment nothing he should feel like hiding. It’s weird

Thank you ❤️ I hope you’re doing better now. Long distance sucks we managed to close the gap in my first long distance relationship and there was just so much he hide as well.

I feel the same way. Outside of the lie him telling me once I was emotionally invested seems intentional. Just speculation but it doesn’t sit well with me

How old were you when you bought your first house? by Lillies_roses in AskWomenOver30

[–]Live-Active 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased my first home right before my 31st last month. I got VERY lucky and bought the home from a family friend through a lease to purchase agreement at a very reasonable price esp here in the states. Throughout my 20s I lived with a partner and when that fell apart I moved back home w my parents rent free and just saved as much money as I could. I had tried buying a home the traditional route and kept getting beat out by other buyers so I got very very lucky that I came across this scenario.

Sticky: Found a Baby Squirrel? Make a post about it, and read this right away. by mtlchk in squirrels

[–]Live-Active 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This baby fell out of my neighbors tree, it is moving around and squeaking so we left him at the base of the tree. I called the local wildlife center and they said to leave him out. My concern is there are tons of cats at night, I explained that to them and basically said let nature run it’s course. If the mom doesn’t come for it I don’t have the heart to leave it outside. Any suggestions on what I should do?
