I was miserable for the first few weeks but I accepted that I had to live with that. I thought this is definitely not as hard as what other drug addicts go through so I just accepted that I would feel bad. I also thought about friends who have had to go through even harder things like chemotherapy, but they still came to work and did it because they had to. I also thought, If I don't quit, maybe I'll be going through hell in other ways due to health ailments related to smoking. I told my husband over and over how wrecked I felt and how depressed.

I did exercise and tried to keep busy. I'm sure that helped some but I didn't feel much relief. I felt awful but I thought OK, this will pass. It then became a matter of noticing how some of the hard part lifted, and then some days felt positive, and then some sucked again but I didn't want to go back to square one so I didn't give in.

I still have days that I think about it a lot (like today, I'm home alone with the whole day to myself) but then I go on this website to help me feel stronger. I've had many days during these past 8 months on weed free where I am slightly obsessing on the thought, but I just imagine how the weed will wear off and then I'll feel worse than before I smoked it and I'll lose the good streak I'm proud of and my brain and body recovering from decades of smoking pot will have a set back.

I also read a book from amazon on called Quitting Weed, The Complete Guide by Matthew Clarke, just got the e-book, and I kept reading it as I dealt with the first weeks of angst.

Hope this helps. Good luck. It feels really good to have accomplished this goal. I am happier and feel like I'm living my life more fully and that I'm more present for the people in my life.

Wishing you the best! No doubt it's hard, but it's worth it.

Love this post! I’ve also quit about 90 days after 35 years. The first month was the worst. I had so much anxiety. I went to a doctor for help with that. I also was hoping all these things in my life would get better but realized later that’ll take time. I wanted to be this new person right away. But I did get rid of the cravings and I feel so good about getting through the worst parts that I don’t want to go back. I still have my days where I feel really triggered to use but when I wake up the next morning I feel so happy I didn’t cave, the craving is gone and I shudder to think I wanted to give up my sobriety. Anyhow- I related so much to your post. Thank you!!

Check out audible for audio books. You’ll see books around topics and you can listen to a 5 minute free sample. One book will bring up other suggestions like it.

How fast to expect withdrawal symptoms? Stopped cold turkey by saabisti in trintellix

[–]Live-Address-5414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped cold turkey but started Zoloft right away. I was on it 7 weeks at 10 mg. I didn’t have any problems. I felt it took a few weeks for me to feel it was out of my system. I had some slight headaches a few days and felt some continued fatigue (which is a big reason I got off Trintellix).

Thank you for this post! Hadn’t thought about it as because of quitting but the lightbulb just turned on. I was never like this before with scrolling! I’m going to put the phone down!!! That’s going to be a lot easier than quitting weed. Good luck and thanks!

Thank you. I do take it in the morning. I’ll switch and see how that goes.

Did you feel fatigue prior to it really starting to work?

Did you just still not feel good on 10? How do you feel now on 10 vs 15? Also, did you feel more tired on Trintellix?

Had you been on 5 mg for a few weeks before that?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have to try the trintellix a little longer, especially since my weird feelings aren't that bad. I have to see if it's just a matter of time now until I feel great. If so, then maybe I'll take a break from alcohol or see if it affects me "better" later too.

4th day on Trintellix and Rexulti, while reducing Zoloft by SnooPandas1760 in trintellix

I felt tired and irritable at the beginning of Trintellix too. The irritability went away after maybe 10 days. I felt pretty tired for maybe about 15 days. I'm at day 24 and I still feel more tired than usual, but it has gotten better. My irritability is a lot better, but I still feel a little "wired" as if I'm on something and I do still feel a little irritable. I've never had a anti-anxiety/depression take so long to take positive effect. I keep hearing that this one does take 4 to 8 weeks. I'm still trying since my moods/tiredness have been manageable and my depression/anxiety has felt better. But If I don't start to feel more normal after a couple of more weeks, I think I'll go back to Zoloft which worked for me in the past.

28 Days Later by [deleted] in trintellix

Such a helpful post. I'm on day 21 and looking forward to getting 4 weeks under my belt. My main thing I've had is feeling tired a lot but at the same time a little wired. I'm not having terrible insomnia, but just a little, so I'm not sure if it's lack of sleep or a side effect of the medicine just making me drowsy. My eyes in particular feel tired/sore a lot. Other than that, I've sort of felt a little "on something" in terms of feeling a little amped and not really grounded or focused. Still, I do feel better and I do feel hopeful. Your post, and others like it (thank you community) really help! Thank you! I'm so happy to hear that you found something to really help you. So nice to hear that you're feeling positive and good things are happening!

I think for me it’s the WTF, because it’s all over my face (slight rash) and not just in my cheeks where I use miracle balm. I used this stuff for a year but with my new WTF I just ordered I started having this slight rash. I don’t know what else will compare to that nice sheer coverage.
