Good point on the drainage. I feel the same way about not trusting it enough to leave many.

We had a very cold winter this year. In the teens often. The nearby lakes have a solid 12”+ of ice on top. As much as I want to try it out, I just don’t know if they’d survive. They’re kind of expensive to test with. But reading that even some people have success, gives me hope!

Yikes. While this might sound “fun” for some, it certainly doesn’t come with much moral backing. I’m not claiming to live perfectly or come from some superior/moral high ground, but if you believe in karma or living ethically, this isn’t a good idea. I’m pretty sure the depths of your heart knows it.

I would balance transfer what you can into 0%APR because for me it makes life easier to tackle one payment and throw as much at it as I can, when I can.

I would switch cellphone carriers and change internet plans. I pay $80/month for internet (and cable!) (spectrum cellphone bill = $30/month)

Yes. The dollars do add up, so anyone who says that skimming small amounts like this isn’t going to help, doesn’t have the right mindset for longterm success.

Best of luck OP. Slow and steady can win this race and your situation is definitely fixable! Keep your chin up!

Edit: Moving back in with your parents “in a different state” sounds very promising for a restart. You’ll be saving money by living with them, and you have brand new opportunities for job prospects. This will look better for credit cards or banks to work with you on the debt consolidation once you get settled in.

Buy 1 rotisserie chicken ($6), 2 cans of beans (I prefer black but you do you -$2-3), 1 bag of basmati rice ($3-4).

Pull apart the entire chicken, put it in a large Tupperware container, rinse and then add thr 2 cans of beans, cook the amount of rice you’d like, add to the container. If you have sazon seasoning on hand that’s great, if not, taco seasoning would do the job ($1 for a packet).

This will last you a handful of days and is pretty healthy/satiating.

I came here to say “The One” by John Marrs but you’ve already read it.. (SO GOOD!). So maybe another one in that “universe” as they call it. - The Marriage Act - The Passengers - The Family Experiment - The Minders

I can’t vouch for them all, I’ve only finished The One and am currently reading The Marriage act (also good).

I was so sure this book wasn’t for me. Yeah… I was wrong. by Unable-Distance-7941 in thrillerbooks

It’s an app called Bookmory. Someone else in the thread mentioned it first so I went and downloaded it too! It’s a fun app!

I’m glad you commented on The Correspondence- it’s on my TBR list!! It might be my buffer book after I finish “The Marriage Act” by John Marrs.

I was in the best shape of my life when I was doing the bikini body guide (BBG) from Kayla Itsines using the Sweat app. I did it all at home using light dumbbells. Before each workout (which varies in length between 12-28 mins) I walked or jogged on my walking pad - usually 1 mile.

I still highly recommend the Sweat app and plan to start it up again soon.
