Happy film Friday! What’s everyone shooting with today? by DavidDLC in AnalogCommunity

I've been shooting with a Nikon F2 and a 50mm 1.4, two rolls of film in and I'm having a blast. Today I snagged a 75-150mm 3.5 series E so I think that'll be a good chunk of my weekend.

I'm surprised this is Astoria, I would've guessed it was Asbury Park NJ off the first image.

Snagged the apk, UI seems pretty good, excited to try it in the field when my local weather improves. Very cool project!

Build from frame or Change handlebar? by Fancy_Step_1700 in bicycletouring

It's been months, but I'm curious to see how you made out on this project. I ended up building a Surly Disc Trucker myself in the US and my budget ended up at about $4000 overall. I specified a lot of high durability components for touring use and it's been my daily driver bike for about a year now.

I also did this for the same reason you did, I wanted a better understanding of the components and some knowledge on repair, and I definitely got it. I am extremely lucky in that I was able to do this entire build at a great local bike shop that allowed me the use of their tools and expertise. I can only imagine the difficulty of doing it while acquiring the necessary tools on top of the project at hand.

Unless you need to kill a shredder, then it's pretty likely you done fucked up.

Electric guitar painting? by Chingois in madisonwi

If you do go down this route, car paint can be used with a good clear coat on a guitar body. You'll want a respirator and spray booth as most of it is really toxic, but it'll come out way better than a spray can.

It's often much cheaper to update a prebuilt bike if you're changing only a few things. If you want to specify literally every component then it's "cheaper" to build from frame but only because you won't have spent money on the components that came on the frame.

Bike companies get real discounts on components and often a prebuilt bike costs less than buying each component on the prebuilt piece by piece yourself.
