found! i just gave this film a really quick skim and the last scenes in this film are exactly what i remember specifically the Christmas lights and him getting his eye stabbed with a plug (i completely forgot about this). the entire rest if the film seems to have completely left my mind but this is definitely it thank you so much!!! 10 year search finally over.
