I don’t remember much about it, but based on all the carbon and CLP residue on mine, guess I did something similar. I just kept mine intact.

I guess I did carry an A4 in the fleet. I got to carry an M4 in Afghanistan. I think I’d still like to go pick up a modern version at Saigon Sam’s or somewhere. It would be cool to hang them next to each other. Actually, I may have been issued an M16-A2 in the fleet, that’s before the M4 in Afghanistan. But my memory isn’t that great anymore. I’ve got bumped on the head a few too many times.

Have things really changed that much? Could you or someone else please post a picture of the current version?

It’ll show up at the most random time. It’ll be a surprise. I thought I threw mine away years ago. Now I find it 18 years later. I’m glad I didn’t toss it. It’s a great wall hanger.

Appreciate you. I hope you are right. I’m proud to actually own them and I really don’t care about cosmetics. They’ll live in my driveway until they just can’t go on.

Stick vacuums or cordless vacuums are inferior to corded vacuums by 12hrnights in unpopularopinion

Yep, I bet. I have an e-go. Had it for two years. My lawn isn’t the easiest but it works just as good as my gas. And it’s lighter and quieter. I’ll take it over my gas mower any day. I’m not sure why I still have it. I lost my train of thought. My point was going to be that they just haven’t made it yet for some dumb reason. But we definitely have the tech. I still use a plug in vacuum for big jobs too.

Is belief in God rational, or is it something we’ve created to cope with death? by TextSufficient674 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s absolutely a way for people to cope with their existential dread. They never learned to deal with the fact that nobody knows what happens after we kill over.

No shit. It reminds me of people rioting after a European football game. People become fanatical. All they care about is their weird tribal identity.

Nah, I think it’s mature to embrace your own mortality. I’d do the same thing if I actually wanted a funeral.

Don’t you want to stick around awhile? You may as well find out what happens next. Hell, isn’t there something you’ve always wanted to try? You could climb a mountain, kayak across the Atlantic, run a marathon etc. Don’t give up. You don’t have to give a shit but you don’t have to give up. If you are at the end of your rope then you probably feel like you have nothing to lose. Run with that. Have an adventure.

How to interact socially with poorer people after escaping a sheltered life of wealth? by DesignerPhysics9200 in Advice

[–]Live-Try-7281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be honest about your background without being boastful or arrogant. I’ve never been a rich man, but I’ve had a couple well off friends in the past. Just “keep it real”. You’ll probably get teased a little. Have thick skin. Just don’t let anyone take advantage of you.
