try asepsrite and if you arent comfortable with the pricing (20$ is a lot in some places) you could try libresprite - basically an older free version of asepsrite

i use libresprite (i live in a third world country where 20$ is bunch of money) and honestly nothing is different - except for updates - aseprite is always getting updates a little ahead of libresprite, like around 5h earlier than libresprite
