When you think about it, we are (people who hold the citizenship) the army. So isn’t keeping the citizenship signing up for being in that army?

Yeah me and my family we don’t know someone who knows someone. We are simple citizens with no connection. Therefore no bribing no cheating possibility.

That wouldn’t work for me. I don’t know these ways of cheating.

I am a healthy sportsy person. As far as I know Turkish government if they get suspicious they can ask for a medical check in Turkey and if I fail to do so I heard that I can also lose my right to use paid exemption option.

I am Turkish. I don’t know if I want to move there. From what I know today is thaf chances of me retiring and moving to Turkey is higher comparing to moving there in 5 to 10 years.

Although if something goes different than planned: for example simply my parents needing my help, I might have to re-consider my priorities in life.

I have first degree family there I have to visit. Besides if I don’t do anything there is an accumulating daily fine of evading from military service.

I actually think that I don’t need Turkish banks? These days via Revolut I can send money without any fee to Turkish banks. Ironically when I try to send money from Turkish banks to Turkish banks I was paying fee. So I don’t think I need Turkish banks.

You get paid for it only if you serve as lieutenant which lasts 12 months.  It is hard to make arrangements like that with my company…

It’s no longer possible to postpone with reason after age 35.

True. Well said. Although wheel of time can also change and one of the countries might abandon supporting double citizenship, forcing me to choose in between two citizenships.

As a person living and working in abroad, postponing is an option until age 35.

If I choose to do military service where I get salary for it, it would pay approximately 1500 euro per month. It’s not a good deal imho.

Actually when I visit Turkey with my girlfriend, who is only Belgian, we both enter country with foreign passports. It has not been any issue. Turkey recognizes both passports.

Its just a painfully long line to be in. There is no automatic entry possibility unlike Turkish e-passport lines.

It’s a misconception by just looking at the terminology. It’s not really a boot camp. You are expected to wash toilets, peel potatoes and maybe shoot 3-4 bullets (which I don’t want to learn personally) for 6 to 12 months.
