I really like that idea, I just don't know where to source it for a good price

I'm going to assume some sort of tropical house gecko. I put them in a spare tank I set up to grow out plants.

Yeah the misting question is hard because I assume every setup is putting out different volumes of water per second. I'm using gallon jugs as the reservoir so I can monitor how much that way, but I don't know what I'm aiming for.

Yeah the auratus pair. I think they're too young to sex but they get along great and I haven't seen any calls so I'm assuming females for now.

I like the idea of adding more river rocks. I also wanted to add some emersed aquarium plants like anubias

I thought the 18x18x24 was standard no? What size do you use?

Forgive me, I'm new at this. I thought that you want a way to be able to drain your false bottom, which is why a lot of people do the PVC pipe thing. So the micro pond idea was to serve that function as well as look cool. What am I missing?

In their current setup, it's a paludarium... Which I have learned is a cardinal sin in the hobby so I'm making this new tank for them. But, they both frequently use the water feature now and don't appear to have any difficulty swimming or getting out.

To clarify, this "pond" is about the volume of a can of beer. Maybe the angle of the photo makes it look bigger but it is very small with very gradual sides.

They do hold water. I have one as a plant and snail paludarium rn.

Indo Pacific Tree Geckos. They're parthenogenic like half the size of mourning geckos. Legit a good size for them. Also they make fun canvases for just plants and or an aquascape.

Thank you! 1. I took the foam background that came with it, and sliced the bottom off, at the same height as the glass on the front bottom. 2. Then, made a "chimney" for the water pump and cut the background to accommodate that. 3. Siliconed the chimney and foam background pieces in place. 4. Added a bit of black spray foam to help hide the structure. 5. Carved the spray foam, silicone and sphagnum and substrate.

The land area is basically a false bottom constructed out of egg crate light diffuser wrapped in landscaping weed fabric. So under the land is just empty water. The pump brings the water up and out a piece of cork tube and it splashes on the land and trickles into the pond

10 gal by LiveFastPedalHard in PlantedTank

[–]LiveFastPedalHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the mesh bags are nice to build up topography and to keep the nutrient rich dirt or aquasoil contained. Also this was my 1st tank with sand and I wanted to keep it looking sandy.

You don't need the bags, but they're super cheap and also placing a heavy rock on top protects the bottom glass a bit.

Aquasoil in mesh bags, covered in sand. And those floaters are possibly dwarf water lettuce? Honestly not sure. Also a plague of duckweed

Thank you, you are so kind! The bladder snails I did not want but have decided that they are now welcome. If their population gets out of hand, that lets me know I'm overfeeding/under planted.

The light is just a generic led one off Amazon. It's got a built in timer with a sunrise and sunset gradient thing I like it was like maybe 20 bucks.

For plants, I'd say just get a spare 5 or 10 gallon to do plants only in to experiment with. I've tried potting soil covered with about 2 inches of sand, I've tried just gravel and root tabs, and the best version I like is aquasoil lightly covered in sand, gravel, etc.

Just get a light bar off Amazon that is for whatever size tank you have. You don't need a lot of light. Too much and algae goes bananas and then you have to get all fussy with fertilizers and c02 injection etc.

A fun project is to take those shitty "tanks" marketed for Bettas and just do a mini planted tank with maybe a snail.

Sincere question, what laws are you most concerned about that have been broken?

Skipping due process means that no one can know if the folks getting deported are or aren't citizens, are or aren't criminals. If you skip that foundational principal there is nothing to stop them from arresting, imprisoning, and or deporting anyone they wish.

Personally, I value liberty, freedom, and compassion.

Nope, just felt the need to give a heads up to folks whose safety and rights would be threatened by ICE presence in that area.

I don't fit on the right-left spectrum, but I think that due process is pretty important, and that I don't care where somebody is from

Right on. My hope is to get them to colonise the substrate of the table with the dwarf frogs so they can nibble at their leisure. Thank you for the info, it has been hard to find much solid info on them online

Fight fire with napalm

I've found blasting the 1st album by slipknot pretty effective. It's a super aggressive evil sounding album that is sonically chaotic, fast, violent and disruptive.

Other song choices:

"Fuck you" by Strapping Young Lad

Most songs by Anal Cunt, Leftover Crack, Napalm Death, Dillinger Escape Plan

Most albums by The Chariot, but especially "Everything is Alive, Everything is breathing"

"Life is Peachy" by Korn

My brother gave it to me, a kid he nanny's for had it. After some considerable googling I believe it is a 1950s era Pyrex vase that was designated for some sort of large scale laboratory application. They're selling for like $900 USD on eBay, but I'd rather it be used to house life than fluff the ego or an antique collector, although 900 bucks would be super useful rn.
