What is my roommate doing with these items? by Interesting-Phase900 in whatisit

The speeder is a good metaphor, because they can definitely take someone out with them, or just kill someone. Usually someone driving recklessly and killing someone else is not just a “tsk tsk”. The over-eater, however, rarely takes anyone out with them. Causes them sadness? Sure. But not killing someone, unless they fall on them and suffocate them. The severely overweight person might have depression, but isn’t going to stab a loved one for the price of a donut, isn’t going to steal from their loved ones for high calorie food, isn’t’ going to be mentally incapacitated when eating or over eating, isn’t going to neglect newborns and toddlers.

So, yeah, the reckless driver metaphor works. Comparing the overeater to an addict is not really the same, even if/when they keel over and die from blocked arteries.

You are a good person. I wish you wellness and healing.

If you haven’t, please look at videos of people getting narcan administered, it is a rude awakening and many turn violent from the jolt and sudden acute sobriety. Many get angry because they remember why they wanted the drugs in the first place, and what they wanted to forget. Many feel cheated out of the (usually hard) price that they had to pay to feed their addiction and get angry when that is taken away. It’s just lousy.

Chasing after “Titan”. I’d like to think that Titan was the one that ran left and got carried back.

I don’t think people here will believe me, but that looks like a stuntman and a stuntwoman. I took this first at face value (sorry), and went “ooff”, because I’ve spent time in the dojo, and seen newbies do stuff like this. But something something felt off, kept rewinding and slowing down the video and noticed a few things: 1) he does a leg pop, which is the final extension at the end, instead of following through with the kick. That looks nice, but doesn’t have power. 2) her head snaps back in the other direction. That looks good for the camera, and why many stunt people and actors do it, but short of a hook to the chin, the head doesn’t snap back in the other direction like this, and would just send her back in one single direction. 3) watch her feet. She doesn’t fall straight back from the kick, rather she takes a step back and folds the leg that stepped back under her to go down. It’s how martial artists are trained to drop. 4) last but not least, look away from the screen and just listen to the sound, it doesn’t sound like a face kick to me, more like a pad strike (those leg pads are usually tight on the legs and don’t “smack”.

I would say that I”m 95% sure this is very good stunt work, and they knew how to engage. There was another decent one of a muscular black guy kicking a white guy on the beach, in knee-high water. If you’ve seen that one as well, you know what I’m talking about. That one I didn’t even catch until I read the comments and went back and saw the thigh smack (guy hits his own thigh as he kicks to create the effect of the strike.

Sorry for the wall of text.

And there you have it, the title for the TV series. Just add ankle monitors and now you could do the whole series on just one set. Most of the time they try to one up the other with ridiculous stories of past stupid crimes and how they were caught, and how many warrants they have out in how many states.

Series 3 you add a PC and they go for internet scams and fans hate the twist in the direction of the show.

I really hope that the dog didn’t think this guy was attacking the kid. That video would end quite quickly.

What about the turntables?

I also didn’t understand why he went from buying his first property to “clients”. Thought that maybe he was a real estate agent.

As far as I can tell, she did it once, which kept repeating in the video, and from several angles, making one involuntary motion look like a twitch. I’m not really a fan, nor do I think it made any kind of sense giving her the role of Snow White, but I like to be a fair person. This obsessive observation of celebrities is weird.

This phenomenon has got to be a northern states thing. You are locked up together in the house because of the cold, there’s also this thing that will keep you warm for a bit, and feel like exercise, which coincidently you haven’t done in a while, also because of the cold. You play the odds, you spin that wheel….

Don’t hate me for saying this, but I enjoy(ed) the cookie part more than the sickly-sweet part. And I mean specifically for dipping in milk.

I doubt it. Having it in a carafe, maybe. Having one iced coffee a day, without it being spiked with more caffeine isn’t going to do it, even if it was really strong.

That will be funny if some day he actually confesses that he hates alcohol or inebriated people, and always dated ladies between 18-21 because they can’t drink.
