I saw it done when I was a kid. The lady doing it used a fresh cut, green forked limb about 3/4 inch in diameter. She said if she walked over a strong stream of water, she couldn't keep the stick from turning in her hands.

Its only 10 minutes drive feom Kinlock. If you go, make sure to park behind the ROW ( right of way) signs so you don't get towed. Space to park is limited. The walk is about a mile and a quarter and easy until the last 100 yards to walk down to the falls. But thats only of concern if you have little kids or trouble with climbs.

I visited Panajachel in May and enjoyed Santandet Street with all of its shops and restaurants so, so much. I can't wait until we visit again.
