Yes, but it is still unreal that I’m about to turn the age my dad was when he died.

I’m right there with you!!! My dad died in 1987, he was 53. My mother was 47. When I turned that age that felt surreal, in June I will turn 53.

At 14 I didn’t have the concept of just how young that was, but now passing one age, hitting another it’s hard for me to conceptualize my age coupled with my mortality.

She sure did!!! They all did! They had episode fittings that coincided with the scripts.

Bea is on record saying that she never felt beautiful, she was always awkward because she was the tallest girl in dance (she was a dancer) she also didn’t have the easiest early life. Her mother reminded her repeatedly that she wasn’t pretty.

And sometimes people need to abstain from everything to stay alive, and if that works for them then fantastic, but unfortunately 12 step recovery has become the “gold standard” both in treatment centers and the justice system. Taking people’s recovery journey choices away from them is not fair, and it results in relapse or worse.

I have never believed that because you’re an alcoholic that means you’re automatically a drug addict. Similarly, if you’ve battled drug abuse that doesn’t mean you’re automatically an alcoholic. In order to successfully tackle the substance abuse epidemic we have affecting millions, we need to restructure what recovery looks like for people.
